Danny Fenton is so damn sick of rich fruit loops. It’s worse now, since he’s one of them.
It’s not Vlad that he’s with, thank the Ancients, but Danny isn’t sure that this is better.
Because he’s Timothy Drake, a baby, and he’s been reincarnated after the Ancient of Reincarnation accidentally drank too much wine.
He’s going to kick their ass so hard when he gets back.
Danny huffs. He rolls over, ignoring the silent manor. Sure, he’s read the comics. Sure, he laughed and imagined being adopted by Batman- come on, Danny had black hair and blue eyes even back then, he was totally adoption bait- when his parents gave him reason to lose trust in their love. But that’s it, that’s all he thought it was. A day dream, a wish for a universe that didn’t exist.
Danny hadn’t understood the reality of the whole Infinite Realms thing, a place he was now the King of. Batman? Real. Danny? Reincarnated. Hotel? Trivago.
Like, this wasn’t what he meant, dammit.
And now he’s stuck as Timothy Drake, and Ancients, he was starting to see parallels.
——
Danny tried photography. He really did. He wanted to at least stick to the source material. But that’s not who he is. Even with the shiny new brain that memorized, catalogued, and put together clues at the snap of his fingers, but Danny’s never been one to take photos. It’s a respectable art, for sure, but Danny preferred to live in the moment instead of capturing it to remember forever. It’s just-
He watched the Graysons fall. He watched Dick Grayson turn into Robin. And Danny can’t and won’t ever betray his Obsession like that, ever again. He can’t let Jason die for his “story” to begin. That’s not how Danny works.
He’s there to protect.
Danny hasn’t ever been just Tim. Danny was also Tim and the Ghost King without a haunt. But now? Gotham is his haunt. He, in lieu of an actual city spirit, is Gotham. He’s also a Drake. And Drakes were meant to hoard.
Batman and Robin? They are his.
He claimed them, as a Drake. But that claim is weak. So he claimed them as their city, and that is a claim that will never be able to be challenged.
Danny’ll be damned before he allows some lanky starved clown beat the life out of one of his Robins. So, for the first time in his nine years on this planet, Tim-Danny goes ghost and flies.
“Who- who. Are you?” Robin slurred from his place in Danny’s hold. He is broken, yes. But not dead. Danny infuses some of his vitality, his ecto, into Jason’s injuries to help them heal.
“Gotham.” Danny replied, layering his ghostly voice with those of the city.
“Goth’m?”
“Gotham. Sleep, little bird. Your city has got you.”
When Robin, Jason, settled with a sense of trust that tugs at Danny’s core, Danny carried him to Batman, whose eyes were wild and manic. He glared menacingly at the green and white ghost in front of him, who was holding his broken and beaten son-
Well, it’d be menacing if Danny hadn’t watched him eat bricks and mortar, crashing into a building while using his grappling gun.
“You-”
“I am Gotham.” Danny cut him off. Despite his wary nature and natural paranoia, Batman settled at his city’s gaze rested on him. Danny knew that Batman recognized his city. Batman’s head bowed, but his eyes stayed on Robin. “You were supposed to take care of Robin.”
“I- I know.” And that voice was all Bruce Wayne the Dad instead of Batman the Vigilante. Danny gently placed Robin in Batman’s arms, taking in the tremors as he held his son close.
“Go back, Bruce. And make sure Jason knows how much you love him.”
He laughed as Bruce whipped his head upwards. “I am your city. You are mine as much as I am yours. I’ve known of you before you were born.”
Technically? Not untrue. But Bruce will chalk it up to weird magic shit. It’s not like it’s a secret that Gotham’s kind of curse. Besides, this way, Danny will be able to help out more often. And Bruce won’t be able to connect Tim Drake to the “Spirit of Gotham.”
“Return, my knight. This is not your city. I can not protect you as well as I can in Gotham.”
“Thank you… Gotham.”
Danny sighed. He wondered when he’ll have to field questions from a John Constantine. He’s pretty sure Bruce will call in magical help, even if it was his own city he was investigating.
Batman’s lucky Danny liked him enough to allow it.

@whump-a-saurus I’ve started writing a series called Oasis which is based on the cult beliefs I was raised with as a Jehovah’s Witness. It’s in my blog description.
Also if you want to write RAMCOA (which I did not experience); please defer to those who actually have experienced it. It exists and those cult survivors seem to get talked over a lot. So accurately portraying it in fiction is a must.
i feel like i never see enough cult whump on tumblr, even though it’s like so perfect for ruining ocs lives
like,
1. multiple whumpee’s, which means more trauma (sharing is caring). some people don’t like to write multiple whumpee’s and that’s ok, but think about it this way, the more whumpee’s you make, the more characters you have to kill off
2. have you ever READ the things that cults do to their victims?? it’s SO fucked up. the brainwashing, the shaming, the guilt.
3. potential religion theming. and god, do i LOVE writing religious trauma. i love the “obsession and devotion even though it’s destroying them” shit so much.
4. who doesn’t love a good charismatic whumper?? who’s gaslighting and manipulating every single person they talk too. they got everyone wrapped around their finger.
i would write this myself but i’m actually really bad at writing so i’m not going too, but if i inspired anyone please tag me. i’m desperate.
#Thank you op for not sensationalizing it#But yeah can confirm; I am a whumpee#I’d say “was” but there’s the whole leaving thing ahead which will probably be very traumatizing#But hey I‘ll have an apartment and two jobs so it won’t be as bad as some people’s disfellowshipping#I forgot until I told my coworker about it how not-normal it is to be planning to smuggle my things out of the house bit by bit#by waking up really early before work while everyone’s asleep#loading a few boxes of stuff into the trunk at a time#and going back in the house so when I leave for work I can just stop by the apartment and unload before or after work#All because I’m halfway afraid of getting beaten up if I do because my dad destroyed some handmade dolls because he wanted to#“hurt me in some way to get revenge” when he read my diaries about how I tried to summon my dead grandma through her doll#and I wasn’t in the house when he read my diaries (which he threw across the room in front of me while yelling to show his distaste)#And he’s stated very intensely (almost yelling at me) that if I try to steal his guns for use on another person#he would beat me within an inch of my life#and this was completely unprompted by anything… can you picture me using a fucking gun?#No! If I were going to kill someone I wouldn’t use your stupid old guns. And I know where one of them is by the way#If I wanted to use it I’d have googled how to use it. And I haven’t because I hate guns#Anyway I digress#Yeah it’s halfway because he’ll destroy my things if they’re not out of the house when I tell him; and also because I might get beaten up#and won’t want to return to get the rest of my things after being beaten up#Like… I don’t think the probability of getting beaten up is very high but still… gotta be prepared#If it does happen I’ll stand there and take it like I do with the children at work when they get angry and hit me#and I’ll record him#Because I don’t want him going to court against me for assault or elder abuse for defending myself#and honestly I wouldn’t feel right beating up an old man#I don’t care if I get some bruises or cuts. Anything serious enough to require medical attention however… You break it; you buy it#You feel me?#Yeah. Cults can radicalize people so much they’ll go after their flesh and blood emotionally and/or physically#simply for disagreeing and having their own spiritual practices (or lack thereof)#Personally I wouldn’t be offended if my granddaughter tried to summon me#I would however be VERY offended if my death were used as motivation for my son to remain in a religion which is actively hurting him

Godsent (Yeonjun)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“It’s ok, I won’t ever get what I need in life. It’s very undeserving of me I guess”
Genre: Angst, Comfort
Pairing: Yeonjun x GN!reader
Warnings: A LOT OF LONG DIALOGUE, reader has shit friends!
Synopsis: Everything was just shitty, and you constantly got hurt, but at least the universe had sent you someone who’s been nothing but amazing towards you.
Tumblr media
“Why do you always get hurt? Why do you do this to yourself Y/n?” Yeonjun whispers softly. You cry harder as he cradles you in his arms, his heart breaking as you continue to sob uncontrollably like a baby.
“I don’t know Yeonjun, I can’t help it. I think I find security in others but then they just continue to fail and disappoint me. I wanna appear nice and friendly but these days it’s just so hard to keep this up, I’m so close to just closing myself off from the world” you choke out.
Yeonjun takes in the sight in front of him. How could an angel like you, the nicest and most selfless person, be beaten down into a crying and sobbing mess? He will never understand why people were so mean towards you.
“I get that we do joke around and stuff, but imagine always leaving me out and putting words in my mouth while talking badly about me. All people really are the same and I constantly do the most for my friends but get this in return. I’m so tired Jjun” you continue and sniffle in the process.
“You must be so tired angel, I’m so sorry people could be so heartless towards you. You don’t deserve this at all and I wish I could help you feel better, even the people who reassure you wouldn’t be able to give that energy back” Yeonjun holds you closer.
“It’s ok, I won’t ever get what I need in life. It’s very undeserving of me I guess” you laugh bitterly.
Everything was unfair, your patience could only go on for so long and you were starting to get tired of letting people in so easily. You had a limit and they were starting to reach it.
“I’m tired of being so nice Jjun, it’s exhausting having to be there for everyone, having to walk on eggshells and stretching my patience out with what they give me. Then it’s so easy for them to put me aside when I’m quiet, just so I don’t cause any problems” you huff out in frustration.
“It’s ok sweetheart, I’m here for you. Let’s get to bed so you can rest and talk to me, I just can’t stand seeing you like this” you felt yourself being carried bridal style and you let him bring you to your shared bedroom.
You were so happy you moved in with Yeonjun, even more so when you first started dating. He’d been nothing but amazing towards you and always knew how to cheer you up after a long day, you will always thank whatever higher being could be up there for sending him to you.
“Jjun, I want it all over with. I’m so tired of doing everything I can and this is what I get? At this point I’d rather cut the entire world out from now on” he continued to rock you back and forth as he peppered tiny kisses onto the top of your head.
“I’m disappointed almost, but I guess it’s just how things are supposed to work from now on. I don’t want anything anymore because I always end up getting hurt, it just sucks you know?” Yeonjun pauses and looks at you in the eye, a stern look on his face.
“Y/n, listen to me. Don’t ever gaslight yourself into thinking you don’t deserve the world, I’ve seen how much you had to sacrifice for the people you care about and they don’t seem to know how to do better” You start to tear up at his words. You did know you deserved better, and yet you still tried for the people that hurt you endlessly.
“I know you’re at a loss, but trust me, things will get better if you let go. You’re not losing anyone Y/n, they’re making you feel like you’d lose a huge part of you when that’s not even true. See you have me, Soobin, Beomgyu, Taehyun and even Hyuka!” Yeonjun started to count his best friends and you giggled at his adorable demeanor.
“We’d never leave you out Y/n, ever. We’ll make you feel comfortable and right at home, and if the boys overstep in any way, let me know and I’ll knock some sense into them” Yeonjun started showing you his fist and his biceps, this time you were full on laughing.
Why would you bother when you had everything you needed right in front of you? Who needs a big group of friends anyway? They would reassure you if you had a singular best friend, but why was there no change? It was better to cut these people off.
“Thank you Jjun, you’re an absolute godsend to me. You’re all I need, and I think I should take care of myself from now on” you kiss his nose which forms a silly smile on his face, one that you’ve grown accustomed to and have grown to love as time passed.
“I’ll always help you even in the worst times, I hope you know that angel” he does the same and you let yourself relax, the two of you on the bed in the dimly lit room as if time ceases to exist.

Aegis (A most Icebound slight return)
(Me showing up to She is me, I am her's birthday party 3 days later)
Happy birthday! I hope you like this extra-long chapter I wrote. I realized that you probably wouldn't be able to summon Lobo to fight Godrick if he hasn't beaten him first, so... here you go.
Please let me know what you think.
---------------
It had been weeks since you and your companion started wandering the Lands Between. You and the quarter-wolven Lobo had grown close since that day you slew his last remaining parent, yet there was so much you didn’t know about him.
Right now, he’s focusing on taking down Godrick the Grafted. “Even if you don’t plan on becoming Elden Lord, stopping him from causing any more harm would be for the best” is what he’d whispered to you. While you couldn’t argue against it (at least someone in this gods forsaken land had some sense to do the right thing), you have a funny feeling that Lobo has deeper motives behind his sudden interest in killing demigods than he’s letting on.
Anyway, the path to Godrick is arduous if you remember correctly. You’ve been to Stormhill a few times, but you’ve never gotten close enough to see the big man himself (a blessing in disguise, perhaps, if the tales you’ve heard about him are true). Luckily your companion just so happens to be a great swordsman, wielding a blade infused with a small fragment of the rune of death. The one weapon the demigods fear above all. Your chances of defeating Godrick aren’t awful with him at your side.
You would think so, at least.
“Do you want this weapon? I don’t think I will use it anymore.” Lobo says while munching on a turkey sandwich, tilting his head towards the black god-slayer greatsword resting on the side of his pack. It takes you a moment to process what he just said. “Wh- huh? Your sword? Why, what’s wrong with it?” Lobo looks at you as the words leave your mouth before turning away sheepishly. You must be making a face, so you take a moment to compose yourself before asking again, only he beats you to the punch. “Nothing, I just… I won’t use it anymore. It’s fulfilled its duty, and now it shan’t hurt anyone anymore; not by my hand at least.” Lobo explains, focusing on the glimmers of lost grace that shine upon your camp, continuing to munch on his sandwich. This complicates things, you were relying on Godrick being intimidated by the sight of such a weapon, hoping that the cowering would be enough to leave him open. Now that opportunity just flew out the window, since that sword is far too heavy for you to wield yourself. “... I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to cause any distress. Had I known this was important to you, I would’ve waited until the time was better.” now he’s staring at you, ears down, looking apologetic. You’re making a face again, stop it! “It’s not about that! Don’t worry.” You quickly explain “I’m just wondering why you decided to get rid of it so suddenly? Did something happen?” he shakes his head “No, I’ve been meaning to do this for a while now, but it would’ve left me unarmed. It was my intention to leave it skewered through the tra- um, along with… father’s body… but it felt wrong after…” he trails off, you nod at him to move on. There’s no need to explain any further. “it wasn’t until I found a suitable weapon in the spectral storage that I felt confident leaving the black one behind. I’d forgotten all about it since it’s a bit of a mess in there, but once I laid my eyes on it I was sure it was meant to be.” Lobo finished confidently, before confidently finishing the rest of his sandwich (confidently).
“Are you sure that’s a good idea? You need to bring your A-Game if we’re going after Godrick, this isn’t the right time for improvising.” You try to reason with him (Futile, he’s stubborn as a mule), but he shakes his head once more “It’s not my first time using them or anything, it’s just been a while. I’m sure it’ll come back to me once I get the hang of it. I promise I won’t screw up.” you take a sip of your tea before responding “Still, would you mind if we practice with it tomorrow? I would like to know how you handle yourself before letting you put yourself in danger” he nods, behind him, you notice his tail is wagging “I promise I won’t disappoint. Thank you” a hint of fangs sneaks through a dopey smile. You worry about him still, but that damned smile puts you at ease just a bit.
—---------
It's early in the morning when you both start your training session. You feel confident with the weight of your rapier balanced in one hand and your staff in the other. Even if your memory is a blur, and anything before arriving in this land is a distant memory, the feeling of your weapons of choice is the only thing that always makes sense. Across from you stands Lobo holding the weapon he was talking about, a long straight sword that seemed downright puny compared to his usual massive blade, and a cerulean shield engraved with a tree-shaped crest. "Didn’t take you for a religious wolf" you joke, pointing at the shield with the tip of your weapon. He looks down at the crest before responding in a language you don’t understand "El arbol que crece a alcanzar el reino de los cielos, debe tener sus raices plantadas en el infierno" “What’s that mean?” you retort, but he laughs you off “I’ll let you know after training, this isn’t the time for a lesson in the Medían tongue. Concentrate on the task at hand.” you huff “Fine, jerk”.
Lobo performs a duel bow and you do the same before you rush at him, firing a barrage of glintstone pebbles at him. He tumbles and rolls, evading every shot before closing the distance between the two of you. You manage to dodge-roll away before he lands a hit with his straight sword. Long though it may be, it would never have the same reach as his other sword. You try counter with your rapier, but Lobo seemingly trips and falls away from it. Taking the opportunity, you plunge your rapier down (carefully, so as not to hurt him) but by the time it makes contact with the ground it’s too late, Lobo rolled away at the last minute and now you’re exposed. You feel the steel of his straight sword poke the back of your robes (carefully, so as not to hurt you) and his voice comes from behind you “Hitting someone while they’re down is quite cruel, but otherwise, you’re very talented.” You turn around. Lobo looks a little tired after all that rolling around, but he’s left the encounter almost completely unscathed. “Godrick will be crueler, I’d rather you learn from me than die at his hands” you retort. Lobo chuckles to himself “This is why there’s no honor or glory to be found on the battlefield.” you hear him say in his usual whispery tone as you both return to your starting positions.
You go at it a couple more times. He’s not used to the shield just yet, so your strategy shifts to trying to keep your distance and fire with your staff rather than strike him directly with your rapier. Lobo is good at getting up close and personal and he’s as slippery as a snake, but you manage to edge him out a couple of times. You win 3 out of 5 matches before you break for lunch. You provide him with some pointers over the roasted springhares you prepared. “You’re still using your weapon as though you expect it to be heavier. I see you use your sword as a counterweight to your movements, but now that it’s lighter, you’ll need to adjust the technique. The shield is heavier, so it should give you better results if you use both as a counterweight measure” you stop to take another bite of food and drink from your canteen. Lobo has been listening intently, his eyes never leaving you “Also, you should use your shield more. It’s supposed to defend you, but you mostly keep it at your side. Don’t be afraid to keep your guard up. You’re pretty agile, so attempting to parry an enemy attack isn’t out of the question for you either.” he nods, silently continuing to eat.
Looking at the shield resting next to him, you’re reminded of what Lobo had said at the start of your training. “Would you mind explaining what you said while we were training? I’d like to know” you ask and he tilts his head in confusion for a moment before his ears prick in realization “Oh, that. It means The tree that grows to the kingdom of heaven must have its roots planted in hell. It’s a mantra commonly placed in armaments of the Republic of Medía's Vanguard.” You aren’t familiar with any countries outside the fog of the Lands Between, but the Republic of Medía must be the name of the country Lobo and his siblings fled to. “What does that mean? It is not a reference to the Erdtree then?” You ask, pointing to the massive inescapable figure of the golden tree in the distance, but he only shrugs “It means one who does not understand evil and sin cannot ever truly rise above it. I am not sure the Erdtree has anything to do with it”. You nod. The Republic sure has some interesting ideas about the world. What would it be like to live in a place so far away from the hell that are the Lands Between? Maybe you knew once, in another time long ago.
Lobo continues. You don’t miss the wistful look in his eyes. “This sword and this shield were a gift from my brother. Val… Briar joined the military back home. He gifted these to me long ago so I may defend myself. He’s… well, he’s always been terrible with gifts, but he means well. I think the two of you would probably get along swimmingly.” He laughs, and it's genuine, yet his smile doesn't reach his eyes. “He and my sister fight a lot, but they always have each other’s backs. We were all any of us had left after… after mother passed, so we had no choice. A bunch of street urchins like us wouldn’t get any kindness here or anywhere.” The jovial tone in his voice is lost, and his ears fall back for a moment “I hope… I hope they’ve forgotten about me. We haven’t spoken… not for years now.” you frown. That’s quite the shift in tone. Did something happen between them? “I hope you don’t mind me asking, but why did you stop?” you try your best not to push. He remains silent, his mouth settling into a hard line. You may be friends now, but there are things he’s apparently not ready to open up about.
You try your best to change the subject, but the awkward air between you doesn’t dispel. Not even another bout of training could get rid of it completely. Well, at least Lobo takes your advice to heart and starts using the shield more. This time you lose 4 out of 6 matches, with most ending with your rapier stuck to the ground or knocked out of your hand. He’s taken to parrying quite well, but it’s too risky of a maneuver to be a reliable strategy. You give him a spirit-calling bell and some ashes just in case. Better safe than sorry, even if neither of you can truly die.
—---------
The next day, you make your way through Stormhill. The soldiers don’t pose too much of a threat with your combined might. A few swishes of your staff are enough to knock them down and Lobo can get behind them for a backstab pretty consistently. Of course, this is little more than a preamble, as the real threat lies inside the castle walls. Making your way onward and deeper, you reach a long tunnel with a site of grace inside. The gates should be just up ahead, and the area looks deserted from here. From here you should be able to reach the ramparts by going around the outside of the castle (a well-known path used by many Tarnished who still seek the Elden Ring), and from there get as close as possible to where Godrick is. There were tales of an unknown tarnished that managed to get all the way to the gates of Godrick's throne room using this hidden path, but no one knows what happened to them after. You look back at Lobo and give him a small nod, he returns the gesture with a smile. You both step out into the ruined entrance before a voice speaks from the distance.
“Foul Tarnished, in search of the Elden Ring. Emboldened by the flame of ambition,” light pools at the top of one of the towers near the main door. It’s difficult to see but based on the shape of the creature’s horns, it appears to be an Omen. The figure jumps an impressive height, landing in front of the stairs and lifting dust everywhere. Lobo steps before you with his sword and shield at the ready, but this new enemy doesn’t even seem to notice. “Someone must extinguish thy flame. Let it be Margit the Fell.” the Omen says lifting his cane as though it were a sword. Looks like getting in won’t be so easy after all.
Margit approaches, jumping into the air and attempting to strike you with the tip of his cane. You run past him to avoid it, but the moment he lands a horned tail bats at you and sends you back in front of him. He’s about to strike once more, but you roll away under his cane and strike him twice under his arm with your rapier. You catch a glimpse of Lobo on the other side of Margit, hacking away with his sword before falling under Margit’s tail as it swings overhead. Margit’s attention is divided between the two of you, but he’s still a formidable opponent. You put some distance and begin assaulting him with glintstone pebbles instead. From his left hand, Margit summons blades of light and throws them your way. You quickly notice that the projectiles are too big to pass through the many weapons that litter the entrance, while your pebbles are tiny enough that they can pass with no problem, so you place yourself between them and Margit and continue your assault. Lobo continues to fight close to him, rolling under his tail and smacking the cane away with his shield whenever the opportunity presents itself. When he jumps to strike, you try to warn Lobo he should run under him, but Lobo instead rolls away from the Omen, opening himself up to a follow-up with a hammer of light that sends him flying. He lands with a thud and doesn’t get up, if he’s dead he won’t be able to get up until grace returns him to the living.
The Omen speaks once more, addressing you while ignoring your unmoving companion. “Well, thou art of passing skill. Warrior blood must truly run through thy veins, Tarnished.” It’s sarcastic in tone. You want to shove that stupid cane up his horny ass. Trying to be so coy when Lobo just died by his hand, he deserves to burn just for that. Margit summons another hammer made of light and jumps towards you, what little protection the rusted weapons on the field offered is lost as he destroys them completely. Margit swings at you, hammer; cane, and tail while you tried to keep him at bay. You take the opportunity to fire at him when he jumps away from you, but one of his blades of light strikes the side of your arm and knocks you into the floor. Margit rushes at you, hammer in hand, and you’re struggling to get up. You can only hope both you and Lobo will be revived before someone brings you to Godrick and tears your limbs one by one.
Then, a bell chimes.
Margit pauses, turning around to look at the source of the noise before being attacked by a pack of ghostly wolves. You get up and look towards your companion across the battlefield. Lobo wasn’t dead after all, he gives you a confident thumbs up as he walks up with trembling legs to where Margit is struggling to free his clothing from the maws of the wolves. The fight ends pretty quickly after that, Margit struggles to keep up with five attackers at once. The fell omen swings his cane, only for Lobo to parry it away twice, leaving Margit wide open. “Go!” Lobo yells at you and you rush in before Margit can get up again, plunging your blade through his chest. His body falls away, fading into dust and glimmers of gold. From somewhere, the Omen’s voice is heard. “I shall remember thee, Tarnished. Smoldering with thy meager flame. Cower in Fear. Of the Night. The hands of the Fell Omen shall brook thee no quarter.” and then silence. You’re both too tired to say anything, but for a moment you see that look in his eyes again. Blue eyes looking far far away lost in the distance, but it’s gone in a moment, hidden behind a dopey smile once he makes eye contact with you. “He sure made us work for it, but now it’s over. Let’s go take a break” he says. While your mind wants to argue, your body forces you to agree. You’ll have a chance to talk later, now all you wanted to do was lie down for a nap.
—--------------
The both of you return to a site of grace in Limgrave. (Why doesn’t everyone do this? Traveling instantaneously between these sites makes everything so much easier than walking to and fro). You pick an old crumbled church near the first step. Sometimes the nomadic merchants stop by to rest here, but today it’s empty. Night has fallen and the stars are visible. Making the piss yellow of the Erdtree almost bearable.
You’re both too tired to even make dinner, the fish he’d caught the other day stay in the spectral storage and your skillet sees no use. You check on each other for wounds that might be hidden before going to bed. You are mostly unharmed, that cut on your arm was deep, and you bandaged it hastily with a scrap of your robe after applying Stanching Boluses to it. Lobo injects you with some red substance from a vial before applying a proper bandage to it. Then it is his turn.
Lobo’s fur was so soft underneath all that armor. If it were up to you, you would ask him to wear nothing but a loincloth all the time. You run your hand through it from behind once he’s down to just his trousers. He leans into your touch, letting you get a feel for every inch of his pelt. His tail wags itself into a blur. The scent of it is not unpleasant either, a faint doggy kind of smell that reminds you of the sea breeze; a memory of summers spent at the beach with one’s friends. You remember no faces, nor any names from it, and yet it is comforting all the same. He’s surprisingly limber underneath the fur, he looks so skinny with his armor on that you wouldn’t think his musculature would be this developed. That’s also… nice.
“Is your arm alright? I hope the medicine I applied was of help” Lobo asks, you can feel his mouth move under your fingers when he speaks. His eyes are still closed in delight. You move your arm a couple times “It’s a bit sore still, but it feels a lot better now, thanks. And you? You got hit pretty bad there. I thought you had died” he winces and lets out a little whine when you touch his chest “Two cracked ribs, but no punctures luckily. I’ve already used the vial on myself so It’s healing, but I’m going to be sore for a few days.” you let out an affirmative grunt. You continue petting him, careful around the chest area. “I haven’t thanked you for saving me. If you hadn’t used the bell to call the wolves, I might’ve been toast.” you say finishing your excursion of his body, then stretching your arms with a yawn. “You don’t need to thank me... Actually, I meant to apologize for dragging you into danger.” he turns to look at you and you tilt your head with a frown. What is that supposed to mean? “If I hadn’t… If I didn’t insist we go after Godrick, you wouldn’t have gotten hurt in the first place. If I hadn’t left my old sword behind maybe this Margit’ would’ve left us alone. The only reason I managed to save you in the first place, was because you decided to give that bell to me. Dios mio, I couldn’t even run under him as you warned me to do because of my… my…” you gently grab his face, and his mouth stills. You stare deep into his eyes, and he stares back. “Please… please shut up” Was that too crass of a wording? Maybe, but you couldn’t stand another second of this nonsense. “I went with you after Godrick because it’s the right thing to do, and I believe in our ability to do it. If it wasn’t for that shield, I would have never been able to strike the finishing blow like that. You saved me, and that’s all that matters. Stop talking about yourself like that.” “But-” he tries to retort, but you shush him up. “None of that!” Lobo closes his eyes, and his ears droop behind him. “I just don’t want to be a burden…” he whispers very softly, his voice even harder to hear than normal. His padded hands reach for yours, and he holds you while you hold him.
You linger on his words for a spell, choosing your next question carefully. “Lobo, is this why you don’t talk to your siblings anymore?” and there’s no recoil of panic under your hands, just the vibration of a low whine that escapes his throat. Lobo’s fingers curl around yours, but he doesn’t pull you away. “... they have their own lives… they don’t… they don’t need someone like me holding them back. They’ve forgotten about mother and father, and now surely they must’ve forgotten about me. I’m… jealous, but also it upsets me so much… that’s why I can’t see them anymore.” He opens his eyes, there’s a hint of tears there. “Please… just drop this… let me… let me deal with this on my own. This doesn’t have to become your problem.” You shake your head. Once again your foolish wolf is being far too selfless for his own good. “I’m sorry, but I will not. I could never forgive myself if I left you hurting alone. While it’s not my problem, I want to help you regardless, because you’re not a burden to me.” you wipe the tears from his eyes, and he sighs in what you intuit is relief. “Very well… I know better than to fight with someone so determined.” You’re overcome with emotion, so you embrace him without thinking and he yelps in pain. “Sorry!”
In the end, you convince him to reach out to his siblings. You’ll reach Godrick the Grafted eventually, and maybe even rekindle your quest to become Elden Lord after all. Your memories may never return to you, but being with him will give you a chance to make new ones. Everything will be okay.

Anne of Green Gables and her Kitten
So before I begin this is a meta I’m writing about a ship, because I like that ship. If you do not like that ship you can just not read this post.
Anyway, a post on the relationship between Atsushi Nakajima and Lucy Maud Montgomery and why I think Lucy’s feelings for Atsushi are explicitly coded as romantic, and why they play off of each other really well.
1. Lucy and Kyouka, a comparison
Okay, so I’m not pitting two female against each other in order to talk about a ship. This section is specifically about the foiling so far shown in story between Kyouka and Lucy. Despite having similar backstories, both of them being orphans, both of them being exploited at first by a criminal organization the guild for Lucy and the Port Mafia for Kyouka, they’re quite interestingly opposites in almost every other way. Especially in regards to their relationship with Atsushi and their first encounters with him.
Tumblr media
Kyoka is presented to us as a remorseful killer, seeking death as atonement for her actions. This is later confirmed with Akutagawa’s anaylsis of her in the Akutagawa arc. Akutagawa identified that she had eyes like Dazai, eyes of a person who wanted revenge against life, and was seeking death.
Kyouka is significant to Atsushi because she is the first person he deliberately makes the choice to save. By this I mean, the first seven or so chapters before this arc Akutagawa sort of stumbles around unfamiliar with the environment he’s being brought into with the detective agency, following around other detective agency members. He fights Akutagawa in the alleyway, but even that, he loses control of his power and the tiger does most of his fighting for him. Kyouka marks a turning point because it’s the first real time Atsushi takes an active role in things, and uses the Tiger’s power to save Kyouka. Not just in removing the bomb from her chest, but also when she tries to return to Akutagawa Atsushi ignores the advice of the rest of the detective agency and decides to go after her a second time defeating Akutagawa in order to bring her home.
This is a pattern to Atsushi and Kyouka’s relationship, even when Kyouka won’t believe in herself, or value herself, Atsushi will go to no end to save her. It’s because she met Atsushi that Kyouka begins to value her own life again, especially the next time around when Akutagawa notices the look in her eyes have changed and she’s someone no longer seeking death. Atsushi was integral in taking her away from the mafia, and bringing her into a much healthy environment in the detective agency. Which is why Atsushi and Kyouka’s relationship is important for both of them, and Atsushi has definitely fostered more positive growth in Kyouka then Akutagawa ever did.
However, there’s a bit of an unhealthy aspect to this pattern for Atsushi saving Kyouka over and over again. It entirely has to do with the fact that Atsushi defines his entire self-worth by his ability to save people.
Tumblr media
Atsushi doesn’t save people for entirely selfless reasons. He does it in order to validate himself and his own existence. It’s not, an inference on my part, it’s direct text, he literally says it word for word in the above panel. Of course, Atsushi thinking this way is sympathetic, because he literally had this philosophy beaten into him. However, it is still an unhealthy mindset he continues to cling to instead of growing past. Atsushi didn’t save Kyouka out of the goodness of his heart, or because he thinks she deserved another chance of redemption. I mean, I’m sure he thought she did later on after getting to know her.
Atsushi’s entire thought process was that if I save Kyouka, then it proves then I am a good person. It’s a good thing that Kyouka got saved, and a good thing that Atsushi finally decided to take action to save her, but that element of self interest in Atsushi’s decision to save others messes with both his relationships and his perceptions of people.
The most obvious case is Akutagawa. Atsushi has decided in his own head, that Kyouka is someone worthy of redemption and Akutagawa is not. Atsushi playing good victim and bad victim is more of this selfish desire to prove that he’s a good person by saving others, b/c otherwise the headmaster is right because he’s a worthless person.
Akutagawa doesn’t deserve to be saved because he murders people, well so does Kyouka. So did Dazai.
Akutagawa doesn’t deserve to be saved because he’s a powerful member of the port mafia and he doesn’t want to leave his position. So did Kyouja. So did Dazai.
Atsushi’s hypocritical views on saving others is something that should be challenged to make him grow as a person, because as I said it’s unhealthy and unsustainable. One of my favorite lines Kunikida uses to describe Atsushi is “You are not strong, you are.” Atsushi depends on both the tiger’s overwhelming power and regenerative ability to compensate for the fact he regularly throws himself into danger to save others. His playing hero would have killed him by this point, if not for the tiger. Akutagawa also rightfully pointed out in the fight between them in the guild arc, no one’s going to stamp Atsushi’s birth certificate with the seal of approval. No one’s actually going to say “it’s okay for you to live.”
Atsushi’s tendencies are extremely unhealthy and unsustainable, and the only raeson he hasn’t become his worst self is because he’s in a much healthier environment than Akutagawa, surrounded by good people who support him.
Tumblr media
Atsushi’s decision to play good victim and bad victim between Akutagawa and Kyouka is even more unhealthy. Atsushi needs to prove deep down inside that Akutagawa is a bad person, and he is a good one.. Atsushi projects even harder on both of them in the Beast AU, to the point where he suffers a psychological breakdown several times over that leads him to the conclusion he must kill Akutagawa to prove he is a good person while at the same time not allowing any harm to come over Kyouka ever. As Akutagawa points out, it’s not really his desire to save and protect Kyouka that motivates him so far. He’s not doing this because he’s afraid of losing her. It’s guilt. Atsushi is guilty for what happened at the orphanage, and he’s desperately trying to prove despite doing x bad thing, he is still a good person because hey look, he protects Kyouka.
Tumblr media
Atsushi viewing Kyouka as someone he needs to protect/save is understandable considering the circumstances, but it’s also something that adds an unhealthy codependency to their relationship. Akutagawa even points this out ironically, that they’re acting like “Kind-hearted murderers”. They are in effect enabling each other (In the Beast AU) because they’re both afraid of losing each other. Kyouka even had a chance to leave the mafia, but she deliberately went back for Atsushi because she couldn’t exist without him and/or felt she owed him for saving her. That’s quite literally what an abusive codependency is.
Of course this is Atsushi and Kyouka’s relationship at their absolute worst, but I’ll argue even in canon that kind of power dynamic exists between them. Atsushi is her savior first and foremost. It is of course something that could be overcome with character development and a chance in the way these two view each other, but I don’t think Kyouka will ever confront the aspect of Atsushi that saves others for selfish reasons, because that is what saved her.
I bring this up because this divide between Atsushi as the savior, and Kyouka as the one who was saved by him is entirely absent in Atsushi’s relationship with Lucy. In fact, their relationship starts out the complete opposite way then his did with Kyouka.
Lucy is introduced as a much more straightforward antagonist. She’s not begging for death like Kyouka is, or showing remorse for the people she’s killed so far. Lucy is lashing out, and not only that believes she’s justified in lashing out. She’s also not trying to die, she’s deliberately fighting against Atsushi, because as she tells him this is literally the only way the guild will allow her to keep living, if she’s useful to them and brings Atsushi and the rest in.
Tumblr media
Atsushi’s fight with Lucy ends with Atsushi sympathizing with Lucy the same way he did Kyouka, however he does not save her. Every time after this the pattern repeats, Atsushi does express sympathy continually, but doesn’t know how to save her, only defeat her. Which means Lucy already from the start challenges Atsushi on one of his flaws. She’s not such a straightforward case as a damsel waiting to be saved, (not to imply Kyouka is, but like Kyouka was actively suicidal and saving her was a case of Atsushi blowing up a bomb and then defeating Akutagawa). Atsushi’s usual method of saving her, by playing hero, or taking down a bad guy will not save her.
Tumblr media
It’s not Atsushi’s strength, that eventually reaches through to Lucy. It’s exposure of his own vulnerability. It’s only when he steps out of the role of superhero and savior and shows her his scars. That he is just another person raised in an incredibly neglectful orphanage, that he is able to reach Lucy properly.
The thing about Atsushi and Lucy both is that they are victims who do not want to view themselves as victims. Atsushi doesn’t just adopt the narrative that the orphanage headmaster gave him because it was forced upon him, but also because it allows him to believe that he is a strong hero capable of saving others, rather than just another person suffering and in need of saving himself. It enables him to have agency and power. IN the Beast AU which is once again Atsushi’s worst self, Atsushi has absolutely no agency whatsoever, he just does whatever Dazai says believeing everything that Dazai says is fixed. He’s an Atsushi who will never grow past his victimhood in the orphanage into his own person, because he doesn’t want to grow, he wants to redo the past and make it so he didn’t kill the headmaster.
Lucy already understands Atsushi on a level that other people don’t in the manga by viewing his victimhood (arguably Akutagawa sees him this way too), but she also requires more out of him then just Atsushi playing the role of savior.
This is also something Atsushi wants to do. He doesn’t want the headmaster’s words haunting him forever. He doesn’t want to keep hallucinating the headmaster commanding him to do things. Atsushi’s ultimate goal is to grow into his own person, who can believe in himself, not become a hero who saves others over and over and over and over and over and over. Lucy is someone who pushes Atsushi towards that goal. Because, she sees him as more than just a hero.
Tumblr media
One reason I love Kunikida’s earlier quote about the tiger being strong and Atsushi not being strong, and Lucy’s actions here in pointing out that Atsushi could just die from his reckless actions, is that they’re both caring for Atsushi’s well-being in their own way. They are challenging Atsushi’s narrative that he’s the hero by challenging him to telling him to think of his own well being, you know like a person would. They care about Atsushi as a person, their care isn’t something he has to earn by saving them.
Tumblr media
It’s an important reversal on the way Atsushi usually views his relationships with people, that actually, Lucy is the one who saves him. Atsushi tries twice to save her in his usual way, but he never actually saved her like a damsel in the movie. Lucy got off the Moby Dick herself when Atsushi failed to find her, and Lucy found a job at the cafe underneath the detective agency by herself. This is something that makes Lucy angry at Atsushi in the short term, but benefits their relationship in the long term, because they start out on more equal footing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you compare Kyouka and Lucy’s individual relationships to Atsushi in this chapter, Kyouka doesn’t really require anything from Atsushi. For her just being near Atsushi is enough. It’s sweet, but like I said, it’s not exactly equal, and there is a bit of a subtext of codependency there. Lucy actually gets mad at Atsushi, she gets mad when he hurts himself or has no regard for his own life, she’s mad when she thinks Atsushi has forgotten about her. Lucy requires Atsushi to talk things out with her. It’s an actual personal conflict that requires him to be more of a person, rather than simply playing the role of protector to someone else. Lucy also, usually cools down right away when Atsushi explains his feelings towards her more properly, so she’s not even that unreasonable with her anger towards him.
All of this to say, Lucy doesn’t really feel indebted to Atsushi. Especially since every time he claimed he was going to save her, he failed. Lucy is there because she wants to be. She deliberately sought him out because she wanted to have a relaitonship with him, and talk to him more after their conversation on the Moby Dick. Lucy is someone who sees his personal failings a lot more thanother characters (except maybe Akutagawa), she notices that Atsushi is oblivious in regards to a lot of things and should think things through more, that he’s really tactless in his relationships with other people, and also he gets himself hurt a lot. These are things Lucy also rightfully calls him and challenges him on, especially the part where he hurts himself because she does not want him to get hurt even saving others.
Tumblr media
This also isn’t old stuff from before the Guild Arc. Abord the skyship, when Atsushi went to great lengths to get to Sigma and try to recover the page from him, and afterwards when he didn’t want Sigma to fall to his death, it was Lucy who noticed he was about to fall and jumped off the sky casino the same way Atsushi jumped to save Sigma, but specifically to save him. A scene followed right away by Atsushi immediately leaping to save her, when Nathaniel Hawthorne attacks her. Lucy is also about as major a character and as important as Kyouka to this point, she was involved in the cannibalism arc, and in the climax of the Sky Casino arc. Her, Atsushi and Kyouka are essentially a trio by this point, Ango even went out of his way to point out that Lucy is just as loyalto Atsushi and Kyouka is. Except Lucy’s feelings are the one more explicitly coded as romantic.
Lucy didn’t just help him in the guild arc, and also in the cannibalism arc when they needed her ability to keep Fukuichi safe. She literally went out of her way to chase him down when the entire detective agency became fugitives, even rushing to the police to prove her innocence. When confronted on why she did it, and why she sought out Ango to come and rescue Atsushi when he needed it, her blushing flustered reaction is coded as pretty romantic.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Once again, this isn’t to make Kyouka’s relationship to Atsushi less important than Lucy’s. The same way I see Lucy and Atsushi coded as romantic, I think there’s more coding for Atsushi and Kyouka as a brother and sister figure.
Then a lot of things that would be unhealthy for them as a romantic relationship resolve themselves. The way Kyouka depends on Atsushi, and Atsushi views her as a protector, that makes more sense if Atsushi over time becomes more of a surrogate brother figure to her. The way they always have to be together in Kyouka’s mind and she goes whereever he goes, makes more sense if you view Atsushi as the substitute for the family he lost. I’m not saying that it’s incest if you ship them as something else, just that the writing suggests a more platonic relationship between them lately, whereas Lucy is set up as someone more explicitly romantic.
This also results in an interesting bit of foiling with Akutagawa. The two most important women in Akutagawa’s life are his literal little sister Gin who he grew up in the orphanage, and his subordinate Higuchi who specifically serves Akutagawa not because he protected her. (In fact a major part of their arc is how Akutagawa was abusive to her at first, but improved upon his behavior towards her when she helped him at a time he was weak in spite of his past behavior to her) but out of personal loyalty. Now it’s a running gag that Higuchi’s feelings for Akutagawa are mostly unnoticed and one sided, but they are confirmed romantic feelings she was even about to confess before the mafia was vamped. Besides Dazai and Atsushi, Lucy and Gin are the two most important relationships to Akutagawa’s character, and Higuchi’s connection to him is romantic at least on her end.
Tumblr media
Atsushi also has his two most important relationships be two girls, Kyouka and Lucy. Lucy is more explicitly tsundere over him, the same way Higuchi’s crush was quite obvious even before she explicitly textually confirmed it.
Tumblr media
In Beast where the main conflict is Akutagawa saving his sister Gin, the reason Akutagawa and Atsushi are fighting in the first place is they are both trying to protect their sisters. Atsushi remains in the port mafia to remain together with Kyouka and because Dazai gives him orders. Dazai’s orders put him directly in the way of Akutagawa saving Gin’s life. The parallel their is pretty clear, Gin is to Akutagawa what Kyouka is to Atsushi a little sister he needs to protect. Also, in a moment of foiling between Kyouka and Gin, they also both view their actions as protecting the other one in turn. Kyouka returns to the mafia so he won’t be alone when she had the chance to escape. Gin runs away from Ryunosuke because she believes that he’s going to kill himself if he completes his quest for saving her, because he will no longer have a reason to live. Atsushi and Akutagawa seek to protect them, and are protected by them in return, you know like family. The central motto of Beast also applies to Atsushi’s relationship with Kyouka and his relentless drive to save her, a hero is someone who saves his little sister and brings her back home safe no matter what.
Tumblr media
Lucy is also, absent entirely in a novel whose main focus is Kyouka and Atsushi’s relationship where they are paralleled to the relationship between Akutagawa and his sister. Higuchi is absent as well, and only shows up at the very end when Akutagawa resolves to live on and grow up. Which I think suggests a more adult relationship for both of the boys, Akutagawa and Higuchi + Lucy and Atsushi is something with the the potential to grow into lovers in the future. It’s a pairing that challenges each boy to grow up together with them.

I would like to recommend the catalog of these writers:
@ditttiii - so I realize I’m following them on AO3 when I realized the fics looked familiar 🤭. Alcina Dimitrescu x female reader
Bela Dimitrescu, Cassandra Dimitrescu, Daniela Dimitrescu, Karl Heisenburg
Summary: Lady Dimitrescu almost looses you and becomes even more protective than ever before.
Warnings/tags:abduction, being held captive/against your will, being held for ransom, being starved, severe bodily harm, mentions of torture, trauma, night terrors, angst, hurt/comfort, protective Heisenburg, protective Dimitrescu daughters, upset Alcina, protective Alcina, vulnerable Alcina
y/n= your name
y/L/n=your lycan’s name
Alcina Dimitrescu had always been protective of you. Even when you were simply her “pet,” her “toy,” her “human play-thing.” Her protection had doubled when she had confessed her feelings for you and had taken you as her lover. It had then tripled when she asked for your hand in marriage, you now being her wife AND step-mother to her girls.
You and Alcina had been careful in hiding your relationship because as pure as your love was it was dangerous. You could very well have been used a ransom bargaining chip to hand over Castle Dimitrescu to an enemy family. So Lady Dimitrescu kept you close and safe...that was until one winter night. You had  ventured out into the grounds that night to watch the snow fall and as you enjoyed the peace of the snowfall you had been taken by an enemy house. The word has slipped, unbeknownst how, but it had slipped just the same. You had screamed and fought as best as you could but the ones that took you were by far stronger than you. By the time Alcina had heard the screams and had gone racing out of the castle, her daughters leading the charge, there was no sign of you except for the signs of a struggle in the snow.
As expected, two days after you had been captured a note was left at the castle doors demanding Castle Dimitrescu be handed over in exchange for you safe return. The letter stated they had three days to comply or else the next thing that would be showing up the doors would be your dismembered body.
During the next two days Alcina, the girls, Heisenburg (who had grown fond of you) and your lycan (a wedding present from Heisenburg) were tearing the countryside apart looking for you. The troop barely stopped to rest and when they would Alcina could be heard muttering; “Alcina you fool, you should have turned her when you had the chance...you idiot...she could have fought them off if she was turned...you should have been watching her...Alcina you idiot...” she went on and on. Your captors had been very thorough in covering their scent and their headquarters was extremely well hidden.
It was close to sunset on the third day and Alcina had collapsed on her fours sobbing into the grass, “I’VE KILLED HER! LUBIREA MEA I’M SO SORRY!” I’VE FAILED YOU MY POOR DRAGA MEA!” The girls surrounded their mother holding onto her crying on her shoulder, even Heisenburg knelt down and placed a comforting hand on his sister’s back. Their moment of despair was interrupted by y/L/n howling and barking down a lone well about 50 feet away. The group rushed over peering down into the well which had no water at the bottom.
“Call the pack y/L/n! She’s down there and we are going to destroy every single one them! They fucked with the wrong family!” Heisenburg commanded y/L/n who immediately turned tail. The girls and Heisenburg quickly descended down the well leaving Alcina, who couldn’t fit down the narrow entrance.
“There’s a tunnel mother! We’re coming y/n!” Daniela screamed as she, Cassandra, Bela and Heisenburg surged forward.
“Be careful my doves!” Alcina called down after them. Lady Dimitrescu stood over the well for five minutes...fifteen minutes...it felt like an eternity for her. She strained her ears for the slightest sound of anything she could hear. In the distance she heard the lycan pack fast approaching. Y/L/n arrived at the well and sat waiting with the rest of the pack behind them. Some more time passed when finally Alcina heard frantic running.
“Hurry Cassandra! Dammit don’t drop her! I should have carried her!” Daniela screeched.
“Hurry, hurry, hurry...you guys stop arguing! She’s lost so much blood we need to hurry!” Bela screamed her voice choked with tears. Alcina’s heart dropped to her feet as she saw the girls and Heisenburg at the bottom of the well you draped over Cassandra’s shoulder. The girls and Heisenburg made quick work of ascending the well passing you into Alcina’s arms. Lady Dimitrescu let out a combination of what sounded like a scream, a sob and a wail.
“MY DOVE! CEL MIC WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO YOU?!” Alcina wailed at the sight of her lover. You were absolutely battered within an inch of your life and covered in blood. There were deep chain marks around your wrists and your protruding ribs indicated you had been starved by your captors.
“Come lycans! Tonight we will taste blood as we ruin a family line forever!” Heisenburg dropped down into the well again as the lycans followed suit one by one leaving the girls with their mother and you.
Alcina was broken from her despair by the girls tugging at her dress.
“Come mother! We must get her back home!” All three of them yelled in unison. And with that the Dimitrescus made a mad dash back to their castle while you lay limp in your lover’s arms.
*********************
It had been several weeks since you were abducted and you were back to your normal self....well as normal as you could be now that you had suffered severe trauma. You woke up every night screaming and thrashing. In your night terrors you were captured over and over. You were beaten and starved over and over. Alcina would always hold you in her arms comforting you as you sobbed eventually falling back asleep. You had gotten the run down of what had happened a few days after your return; Heisenburg, y/L/n and the pack had absolutely decimated the underground home of the rival family. They had weened out the few directly responsible for taking and beating you. They still resided in the basement being tortured every day by the girls and Alcina. It was safe to say they wouldn’t be bothering any you ever again.
Ever since your abduction Alcina had been insanely protective of you and it was starting to become ridiculous. She didn’t let you outside unless supervised by the girls or herself. You hadn’t been alone for more than five minutes and Alcina had a death grip on you every night. She wouldn’t even let you walk down the stairs for fear you would “trip and break your neck.” Although Alcina had lamented not turning you when you were gone she still hadn’t done it because she was so preoccupied with keeping you “safe” and of course the normal commotions with Mother Miranda. You knew she was acting like this because you were taken but it was annoying you and not helping you in your recovery. One night you snapped.
“Alcina, drag mea, I know you want to keep me safe but you can’t treat me like I’m made of glass for the rest of my life!” you sighed pushing the log you were going to put onto the fire until Alcina had grabbed your waist pulling you back from the fire asking if you had burned yourself when you hadn’t even been close to the flames.
“I won’t apologize for keeping you safe cel mic it’s my JOB,” she stated gesturing for you to come back and sit on her lap where you had been. She furrowed her brows when you didn’t move.
“Look Alcina my love, I know that incident was a close call but I’m fine now and nothing has happened since,” you finished snapping your head around to look at your wife. Her whole body tensed.
“Nothing yet...it is my job to protect you y/n.You’re my wife and the step-mother to my daughters and you will NEVER be away from me or hurt like that ever again!” Alcina was now yelling her eyes filling with tears. She let out a sigh resting her elbows on her knees placing her head in her hands. You couldn’t see but you knew she was crying. You strode forward quickly kneeling down so you could look up at her. You took her hands in yours leaning up to place a kiss on her chin.
“Alcina I-“
“I will never get that image of you out of my head!” Alcina sobbed taking your face in her hands. “You looked dead! I thought you were dead! We almost didn’t make it in time! And even when we did I couldn’t come get you myself! You wake up every night screaming and in tears because I failed to protect you! I should have turned you before we were wed and even now I STILL haven’t gone through with it! I’m a monster who almost lost the one person I have ever loved!” She finished her sobs racking through the room pulling you up into her lap. You went without protest wrapping your arms around her neck as she sobbed into yours. You two had never really addressed what had happened. The only time you did was when you first woke after being passed out for almost an entire day after you were returned safely to the castle. Lady Dimitrescu had not left your side the entire time you were recovering.
“Then let’s do it draga mea...” you whispered, “I think it is time. I’m ready to spend eternity with you and the girls.” As you said this Alcina lifted her head looking into your eyes and a smile stretched across her face.
“Ok my sweet dove, we shall then,” sniffled Alcina as you wiped her eyes with your sleeve. “There is a full moon tomorrow? Does that seem right?” You let out an amused laugh and she did too.
“Yes lubirea mea, that sounds simply perfect,” you agreed pressing your lips to hers. You were ready to become like her and the girls. You were ready to shatter your human form and embrace your new body.

[ the little moments] ♡ Belphegor
7 - That moment when Belphegor showed you magic.
✿ part of a series! ✿
❀  gender neutral reader  ❀
Warnings: Mentions of death and also lesson 16 spoilers
Nights in the Devildom were no different from nights in the human world, except for the abundance of visible stars twinkling in the night sky. Too much light pollution covered the stars in the human world, and you had almost forgotten what they looked like if not for arriving at the Devildom.
“Can’t sleep?” A voice, soft and heavy with sleep, entered the planetarium. It echoed gently in the dimness around you and almost faded under the trickling of the water fountain, the airy words murmuring against your ears.
Belphegor draped a warm, fluffy blanket around you as he settled next to you, wrapping himself with the other end of the blanket. He sat to your right, one of his long legs bent at the knees, and the other stretched out against the marble floor. When he leaned into you, the soft strands of his hair tickled your neck, and the faint smell of chamomile floated around you.
“Seems like I’m not the only one,” you teased, brushing your thumb against his cheek as you tucked his bangs behind his ear. They didn’t stay there long, falling back down to cover his eyes again.
Belphie sighed. He turned his head slightly, his purple eyes half-lidded as they met yours.
“Missed you,” he muttered. “I woke up with this gaping feeling in my chest, and I knew I wouldn’t be able to sleep until I could feel you next to me.” Then he hesitated, his breath hitching as you felt his hand twitch against yours. “Can I… Can I hold your hand?”
You took his hand in yours, weaving your fingers with his. His fingers were freezing, so you rubbed them with your other hand, hoping to warm them up somewhat.
“Of course,” you said, smiling. “Are you feeling better now?”
“Of course,” Belphie repeated. He brought your intertwined hands to his mouth and pressed a light kiss to the back of your hand. “You’re here with me.”
Your cheeks warmed along with your heart, your mind fumbling around the affection consuming you from the inside out. This was the best feeling of love you could ever have the privilege of experiencing—it was something like a stuffy feeling, like layers of cotton had been padded in your chest, and it wasn’t strong to the point where you felt like you could burst into pieces, but something more subtle, something more encompassing, suffusing through every fiber of your being and every molecule of your soul.
You were absolutely immersed in it.
“I have a little trick for you,” Belphie said almost immediately after, pulling away from you so that he was sitting upright. “Since you can’t sleep. Have you heard of tracing?”
You shook your head. “No, I don’t think so.”
He hummed. “That’s not too surprising. Tracing is something children are taught when they are very young, so the RAD professors wouldn’t teach you what it is.” Then, he held out his hand, the one that wasn’t holding yours. “Here, hold your hand out. With your palm up. It’ll make it easier. Tracing is basically what it sounds like. You trace the air with your magic.”
You felt like you understood it but also didn’t at the same time. You could hold your hand out no problem, but everything after that was… hm. Not good.
“Belphie, you’re a bad teacher,” you said, smiling teasingly at him.
He glared half-heartedly at you, eyebrows just barely furrowing, but then he chuckled.
“Sorry, my little sun,” Belphie said, lips curling at the edges into an amused smile. His bangs brushed past his nose as he tilted his head. “I’ll explain properly this time.”
True to his words, he took his time teaching you, explaining each part thoroughly and making sure you understood. You were surprised that he had that much patience, especially since he yawned multiple times throughout his explanation. Although, you couldn’t say that tracing was hard to explain.
“Very good,” Belphie said, his voice drifting into your ears. “Visualize your magic, make it visible, solidify it, and then move it according to your will. When you get used to it, put down your hand. Try tracing by using only your mind.”
It took you a few tries, but it really wasn’t too difficult. Once you managed to trace without having to use your hand as an anchor, the first thing you traced in the air was “Belphegor” surrounded by hearts. If you maintained your focus, your tracing could stay for a few minutes, so you kept adding hearts around his name, the color of your magic lighting up the planetarium.
“Why are you like this?” Belphie sighed, exasperated. He started tracing as well, purple letters appearing next to yours. His magic was lazy but light, appearing in delicate, efficient strokes.
“Like what?”
“So precious.”
You turned to him, blinking in surprise, but he didn’t look at you. Instead, he focused on the letters in front of him, his eyes reflecting the light from his magic. When he still didn’t face you, you returned to adding more hearts around his name—only to see what he was tracing.
It was your name in beautiful calligraphy, and underneath, it was Belphie’s endearment for you—my little sun—in smaller but just as lovely letters. He also incorporated a sun into your name, little lines indicating the sunbeams. Even though he didn’t draw any hearts at all, his adoration for you was still clear as day.
“You’re the precious one here,” you said, pretending that the lump in your throat didn’t exist. You spoke past it, even when your voice came out scratchy in doing so. “Now, it doesn’t matter how many hearts I draw. It won’t beat yours.”
Belphegor laughed, his voice coming out in airy puffs. “Since when did this become a competition? You’ve already beaten me. The moment I fell for you, you’ve already become my everything.” He looked at you softly, the lines around his eyes gentle with love. But you also noticed the dark circles lining underneath them, hidden behind his bangs. “My little sun. You are the light in my world.”
“Then, you’re my moon,” you said, squeezing his hand. “My other half. In the darkness, you are my light.”
“I am your moon,” he agreed. He squeezed your hand back, turning away from you, and rested his forehead against his propped up knee. “Because even the moon gets its light from the sun.”
You didn’t know what to say, so you went back to the letters hovering in the air. You let most of the hearts fade from around Belphegor’s name, but you kept the rest. You wanted to keep some form of your love visible for at least a little longer.
“You know what’s funny?” he suddenly asked.
You drew a little cow in the air, adding Belphie’s horns to it. “What?”
“I used to love human beings,” he started. “They were just so fascinating, and I loved them. But not in the way Lilith loved them. The love I felt for humans was like how humans love flowers. But Lilith didn’t love them like flowers. Lilith picked one human and gave them all of her love, to the point that she went against Celestial laws for them.”
Belphie paused. The water fountain gurgled faintly in the silence. You finished your cow and decided to stop tracing, tilting your head up to look at the planetarium sky instead.
He continued, “I didn’t understand that kind of love. I didn’t understand what kind of feelings could drive her to such lengths for a human. A human that would never live as long as us. When Lucifer told us that she died, all I could think about was that, in some way—I killed her. I led her to her death. It was because I loved humans that she fell in love with one. But because my love was not the same as her love, I didn’t understand. I didn’t understand her love, I didn’t understand her reasons, I didn’t understand her.”
He took a deep breath, then exhaled slowly. “Because I didn’t understand, I blamed the humans for it. I started hating them, and it was a kind of loathing that ate away at me from the inside. I hated that they took my sister away. I hated that she had to fall in love with one. I hated that I didn’t understand. So, you know what’s funny? It’s funny that it is only now that I understand.”
“Belphie,” you whispered. You couldn’t see his face, but from the shakiness of his voice, you knew that he was in a lot of pain—pain so embedded into him that you didn’t know how to soothe. You adjusted your position so that you could wrap your arm around him, bringing him into a half hug.
“Isn’t it funny?” Belphegor rasped, his body trembling. “Isn’t it funny how I hated humans so much for causing my sister to die, yet now, I am completely, utterly in love with one? And now—and now, I understand exactly how Lilith felt back then. Now, I know why she did what she did. The irony of it all—I hated that I loved humans, but that hate has also led me to you. Lilith, as an angel, fell in love with a human, and I, as a demon, have also fallen in love with one.”
You took in his shaking form, the light heaving of his chest, the balled up fist at his side. You took it all in, and asked, lightly, “Do you regret it?”
Belphie shot up, misty eyes frantically meeting yours as he squeezed your intertwined hands tightly. “Never. I never regretted it. I wouldn’t, and I will never. Loving you is nothing but joy. I love loving you, I love seeing you smile, I love knowing that you are happy. I love that you love me. I love you. I am so happy, knowing that I love you. And I will break every rule in all three realms in a heartbeat, if it means that I can see you smile again.”
“You don’t have to go that far,” you said softly, brushing his bangs to the side so you could see all of him. “Just knowing that you love me is enough. I love you too. For me, loving you is a state of truth. I don’t know what I would do if I lost you.”
A sort of desperation haunted him, lingering in the deep purple of his eyes. He took your free hand, clasping it together with your interwoven hands. When he rested his forehead against them, it almost resembled a prayer of sorts.
“You can’t die,” Belphie pleaded, begging, praying—choking on his words. “You can’t die. Please, I can’t lose you. Please, please—you can’t die. Please, don’t leave me alone. My sun can’t set. I can’t live in a world without your light. Please, you can’t die—”
But you knew, and you knew that he knew too.
That all suns must set.

What was happening? As a Jujutsu sorcerer, you had lived by the affirmation that you would not regret death once it came upon you, but you never prepared for the possibility that death would sneak up on you when you least expected it. Before stupid Itadori crashed into your world like a bull in a china shop, you were Tokyo Jujutsu Technical High School’s most promising student. That freaky Okkotsu kid had that super-powerful Cursed Spirit living inside him which automatically made him Special Grade, but with your extraordinary natural talent for jujutsu, you were sure to one day reach his level if you just worked hard enough. Gojou-sensei had said it himself, you were a rare talent. You still had so much further to go, so much more to achieve, so why were you now bleeding out in some random alleyway with nothing to show for your sorry life but a few empty words of praise?
Your opponent let out a rumbling peal of laughter. ‘Oh yes, I love that one… you know, of all the expressions people show me before I kill them, anger is my favourite.’
Even with the tattoos crawling up his arms and extra eyes blinking on his face clearly marking him as Ryouma Sukuna, you couldn’t help but hate Itadori for once again ruining everything. Gritting your teeth, you ground your twitching palms into the cold asphalt in an attempt to push yourself up, but your elbows gave out, making Sukuna laugh even harder.
‘I’m not… done yet,’ you spat, blood spilling down your chin in direct betrayal to your words.
‘Yes, you are.’
Sukuna turned to leave and you attempted to will away the black spots clouding your vision. Despite your pride, you wondered when your life was going to flash before your eyes like it was supposed to.
‘Such a waste… you might’ve had a chance if you’d tried a little harder,’ he murmured with a slight chuckle. ‘A small chance, but who knows.’
Huh?
The shock you felt at his words momentarily numbed the pulsing pain in every muscle of your body, giving you the strength to prop yourself up on one elbow.
‘What… do you mean?’ you forced out.
‘Hm?’
He turned his head with a slight raise of his eyebrows, as if he hadn’t expected you to still be alive.
‘My technique was perfect,’ you insisted.
Itadori’s features morphed into a derisive smirk unbefitting of the cheerful boy.
‘Who told you that? That irritating teacher of yours, no doubt,’ Sukuna laughed. ‘So much untapped potential… if only they taught you how to really use your powers, you could even rival dear Itadori.’
Your eyes widened. You had potential to match Itadori, the vessel of the most powerful Cursed Spirit in existence? Sukuna was turning away again but you couldn’t let him leave, you had to stop him. Ignoring the screams of your body, you pushed your weight back until your butt rested on your heels, your arms stretched out in front of you in a deep bow.
‘Teach me!’ you begged with every bit of energy you had left.
Sukuna paused where he stood, turning to regard you with an expression of utter shock. It was only there for a moment though, melting as soon as it had appeared into raucous laughter.
‘You want me… to teach you?’ he managed between cackles. ‘Interesting! Maybe you’re worth keeping alive a little longer.’
He took slow steps towards you before crouching to lift your chin between his thumb and forefinger to gaze into your teary eyes, silently pleading for his help. You were barely holding onto life at this point, yet he seemed to be in no hurry, a grin stretched wide across Itadori’s face.
‘A teacher, huh?’
The last thing you saw before you blacked out was Sukuna’s extra eyes and tattoos melting back into his skin, his malicious expression replaced with your classmate frantically calling your name.
Gojou Satoru was livid. Staring at the swirling mahogany of his desk, he forced his bloodlust down to a simmer and fixed his face into a painful smile with which he regarded the snivelling boy before him.
‘You lost control,’ he accused, ‘a mistake which nearly caused the death of your classmate. What do you have to say for yourself?’
As Itadori began blubbering apologies, Gojou’s mind returned to the sight of you lying in a hospital bed, a mess of wires and bandages around the gaping wound in your stomach that nearly cost you your life. The image of you, his bratty little (YN) looking so defeated made his blood boil with the desire to tear whoever was responsible to shreds. Unfortunately, the perpetrator was the very student he had insisted on keeping alive. Was it worth the risk? What if losing you was the risk?
You came into his life bright-eyed and brimming with terrifying reserves of untapped potential. Whether or not you were aware of just how much power you possessed, you had an inexplicable desire to distinguish yourself which reminded Gojou of himself at your age. While others were irritated by your brashness, he found himself growing fond of his latest protege. He liked to think that he was the only one who truly understood you. When he informed you of exactly how exceptional you truly were, your face lit up with such fervent excitement, he couldn’t bring himself to be ashamed of the sudden increased blood flow to his nether regions in that moment. He ended up complimenting you whenever possible during his private sessions with you just to see that face again. He loved the way you lapped up his praise like a cute little dog, he loved how you treated his word like gospel… eventually, he came to terms with the realisation that he just loved you.
Even so, you scared him sometimes. At first he had lived to see you shine whenever you discovered a new ability with his help, but with every milestone, he felt you edging further and further away from him. At that rate, you would surely become a Grade One Sorcerer, and then… you’d have all these responsibilities, responsibilities he honestly wasn’t sure if you could handle with your weak constitution, responsibilities that would lead you away from him.
So he altered your training program a little. Taught you to unknowingly hinder your own abilities, just enough so you’d still need him by your side. Maybe it was underhanded, but you were the purest thing in his life and he wasn’t about to let you leave him so easily. But his selfishness had backfired. With your stoppered abilities, you were unable to defend yourself against Sukuna, and because of him…
Gojou buried his face in his hands.
‘Sensei?’ Itadori asked nervously.
He shook his head, donning a carefree smile.
‘You shouldn’t apologise, Itadori. After all, I’m the one who miscalculated when I assumed you would be able to sustain Sukuna’s growing power.’
‘Am I going to be executed?’ Itadori’s face turned sheet white.
Gojou had considered killing the boy himself when he first saw your beaten body. Itadori’s hold against the ancient Curse had been gradually slipping ever since he ate the fourth finger, but he had been so consumed with capturing Sukuna, that he failed to see the situation for the disaster it was.
However, logic soon overruled his desire to destroy anyone and anything that hurt you. The inconvenient truth was, they had no hope of stopping Sukuna without Itadori’s body. But in order to mitigate the risk…
‘No, you won’t be executed. But you will be detained, at least until we figure out a better solution. For the time being, your responsibility will be reduced to being a vessel for Sukuna, nothing more.’
Itadori hung his head but did not protest.
It had been a whole week since you were discharged from hospital, yet Gojou-sensei still refused to let you train. Before, when his presence had been fleeting due to his foremost duty as the strongest sorcerer calling him away every other day, you had craved his attention, but now you wished he’d just disappear.
‘(YN)-chan, you should be resting!’
You had barely taken seven steps down the hallway before he intercepted you and corralled you back to your room, gripping your upper arms firmly as if he were redirecting a wandering child.
‘I should be training!’ you protested, noticing with no small amount of irritation the way his lips drew tight. ‘I’m almost fully healed, the nurse said I could participate in moderate physical activity the day after I was discharged. It’s been a week, Gojou-sensei! When are you going to stop treating me like a- mmh!’
Suddenly, your lips were captured in a suffocating kiss. Gojou-sensei wasted no time pushing his tongue between your unprepared lips, the wet muscle surprising you with its coldness as it invaded your mouth. At some point, his hold on you had tightened to the point of being painful.
‘S-sensei!’ you exclaimed, shoving him back.
His blindfold prevented you from gauging the full extent of his emotions, your teacher raising a hand to his parted lips as if shocked by his own actions. Before he could regain his composure, you bolted down the hallway, your only goal to get as far away from your attacker as possible.

Summary: Omega Tony Stark craves adventure and an escape from the life his parents have planned for him in New York. He places a listing in a marriage catalogue to seek a match with an alpha out West, and Sheriff Steve Rogers answers his advertisement. But finding a nice alpha doesn't mean it's all smooth sailing from there..
- A Mail Order Bride AU -
Note: A 10/10! This has all the splendid elements of ABO with an added twist of a West setting and time!
The Team Omega by AngeNoir for PhenomenalAsterisk
Summary:  Steve Rogers is thawed, stressed, and not quite sure what Director Fury wants with him. Giving him a unit of all alphas, even if most of them Steve had fought alongside when the alien menace had nearly wiped out the entire city of New York... The thing is, more than four alphas wouldn't work in a unit with one another, not for long. Everyone knew that. Steve knew that, intimately, with the Howling Commandos.
Which was why Director Fury had, apparently, assigned them an omega.
Frustrated at the inability to even choose his team, let alone choose the omega that was supposed to keep the peace between everyone, Steve storms back to his unit's assigned quarters. There, he meets Tony Stark, grandchild of Howard Stark, clearly unhappy with his position and just as clearly unwilling to break contract with the U.S. military complex. So why was someone like Anthony Stark here, in Steve's charge?
And how could Steve even act upon his genuine attraction, with the power imbalance clearly in place?
Note: I admit, this has one of the best takes on ABO I read in a while! It’s a good read!
If You Love Me I'll Love You Too by Carsonian
Summary: Starrk hands Steven a knife, leatherbound and strong, to fulfill the rite. The Alpha must go first. Steven takes Anthony’s hand, slices a clean line across the palm.
“And in the sharing of blood, I am become yours.” Steven recites.
Anthony takes the knife and returns the favour.
“And in the sharing of blood,” He looks up, eyes dark and unfathomable, “I am become yours.”
Note: A well-written ABO Stony fanfic with a dash of arranged marriage and Middle Ages (though the time period wasn’t exactly specified). It takes on how Steve and Tony navigates through their forced marriage and how they learn to care for each other!
Tribute Given, Treasure Gained by sphagnum
Summary: “Steve,” the Captain said, hand over his chest.
Tony licked his lips. Was he supposed to give his name, or remain silent until he was asked a direct question? The Captain--Steve, apparently--already knew his name, he had to, it had been included on the settlement he and Stane had signed. Was this a test? Time was passing and Steve was still waiting with his hand on his chest but Tony had to figure out the right answer fast or when Steve moved he might--“
Tony,” he blurted.
“Tony,” Steve repeated. He hadn’t come any closer. He said something short that might have been pleased to meet you or you look good on your knees. Tony had no way of knowing and he wasn’t going to risk echoing it. He kept quiet. See, Howard? I do know how to shut up when my life depends on it.
Note: A nice ABO with Warlord!Steve! This is a great read, with the steamy smut on the end being a nice cherry on top!
While We Pretend to Sleep by Typo66
Summary:  Tony pretends to be an alpha. Then he forgets he had been pretending. One thing he remembers is Steve. Steve tries to help out in his old fashioned, ethically strict way. Tony likes making big gestures. He has never been subtle.
Note: Another Stony classic! This is a great take on ‘Tony denying his nature’! A deifinite 10/10 read!
Rockabye by BladeoftheNebula
Summary: Cute alphas didn’t appear out of nowhere to help ruined omegas. That was a widely accepted fact.Tony Stark had always known his life wouldn’t be easy as a genius omega in an alpha’s world. But not even he predicted getting knocked up and forced to move to a small town in the middle of nowhere.
Note: A fun read where Firefighter!Steve lend a hand to pregnant Tony! It also takes place in a Small Town kind of setting, which is an added bonus!
In the middle of the night by defenceless_stark
Summary:  In the past, alphas used to only mate with other alphas and maybe the occasional beta or delta. Omegas were seen as useless and scum to alphas. Omegas would only stay in a pack if they could keep up and they were only protected if they were the head alpha’s offspring. Over time, alphas soon discovered that omegas were useful for producing offspring, due to their high fertility rates and weaker genes, so, in most cases, only the alpha’s genes will pass on. Alphas soon evolved to an omega’s scent, making them possessive and dominant over omegas which led to an increase in abuse and mistreatment. Steven Rogers was expected to be an omega, but much to everyone’s to surprise, he was an alpha.
Anthony Stark was expected to be an alpha, but much to his father’s disappointment, he was an omega.
Like any omega, Tony had his fair share of omega abuse and harassment. But unlike any other omega, he wasn’t one to sit around and take it.
Note: If you are avid ABO fan, this is a Stony fanfic that you wouldn’t want to miss!
In A Rut by rougewinter
“You don’t have to do this, Tony.” Pepper said as she tightened her white knuckled grip on the clipboard in her arms. “I’m sure we can find someone else.”
“Yes. I do.” Tony said, surprised that his voice came out steadier than he expected.
Or the one where Steve goes into an Alpha Rut and Tony is the only one who can help.
Note: A short but sweet-well, not sweet since it has that dose of great smut! make sure to check it’s sequel where Tony is in heat! (Heat Up by rougewinter for avengemehamlet)
Please don’t (give me what I want) by masterlokisev159
Summary: After the events in Siberia, a new law is declared and Steve and Tony's newly reformed relationship is torn to pieces.
Then Tony goes into heat. And Steve is adamant to save it.
A post-civil war story where Tony is put in a position where he cannot consent to anything at all. Steve, the strongest alpha of all time, is furious.
Note: For those Stony shippers that wants a bit of angst!
Perfect Man for the Job by Ilearnedtoreadforthis
Summary: After his ordeal in Afghanistan, omega Tony creates the Stark Housing Initiative: Executive Level Development (or S.H.I.E.L.D., for short) to provide housing to returning veterans. When alpha Steve Rogers applies to manage S.H.I.E.L.D., it turns Tony's life upside down.
Note: This is a cute employee/boss story with a dash of ABO!
World Acclimation by Del_Rion
Summary:  When an unexplained phenomenon washes over the entire planet, the Avengers are left to struggle along with the rest of the population. Chains of command, relationships and friendships alike are put to the test as new biological imperatives take hold, and only one thing is certain: the world will never be the same.
Note: This is one of my favorites! It has a unique take on ABO that I don’t see often. And well, Am still hoping for the next installment. Though, read the tags carefully!
You Are Not Broken, Just Bent. by NazakiSama166
Summary: He won't break!
No matter how much he was tortured, no matter how much he was beaten, starved, threatened... He won't, he won't, he won't!
Until he did...
--- When Shield uncovers a hidden sub-basement in the house of Obadiah Stane, they find a tortured omega and his pup. Everything went down the drain when that Omega turned out to be Tony Stark, Howard Stark's son that went missing six years ago.
Note: Anyone in the mood for angst?
WIP:
Finding Pack by Naferty
Summary: In a world where pack means everything from status to fame to survival and to family, newly pack-less Tony Stark is trying to survive after those he once trusted betrayed him, and starting over by searching for a new pack to take him in, but with his age and status weighing heavily on his shoulders finding someone to take a chance on him might be easier said than done.
What pack wanted an old infertile omega in their ranks? Certainly not the famous Avengers pack led by the equally famous Captain.
Note: This is a bit of a slow burn Stony fanfic that ticks all ABO boxes! It’s an all-time-favorite and classic!
Secrets Don't Make Friends by sayah1112
Summary: Tony Stark has a secret. Several, in fact. Outed to the world as an Omega, he finds himself stuck between a rock and a hard place. His only hope at salvation rests upon the strong shoulders of a certain Captain Steven Rogers. The problem? Rogers hates his guts.
Note: Another favorite of mine! This is a great hurt/comfort fanfic centered on stony!
This is just part 1 guys! I’m kind of a big fan of ABO so I have a few more to recommend!

Obsessing over horrible proposals....
Beau wants to treat her girl right! She wants to show the whole world how much Yasha means to her! Sure, she’s not exactly au fait with long-term relationships, but when you want to be with someone for the rest of your life and whatever happens after, you make it official, right?
So, she grabs a fancy diamond while performing some fieldwork for the Cobalt Soul....
Then dies.
A nearby cleric has to dust the diamond in order to resurrect her. Not to be defeated, Beau stomps back to her new hometown and grabs another diamond. She sticks the ring in a cake...
Only for Yasha to eat it, seemingly without noticing.
Yeah, the universe is really fucking with her now.
Time to go old-school. Beau hires a bard to perform a serenade under Yasha’s window. Shoddy service, honestly. He wakes her up from a nap, and next thing Beau knows, he’s fled the country.
(Yasha: I just asked him to stop :(
Every witness on the street: Yeah, while frothing at the mouth, with Rage-eyes, waving a sword bigger than he was...)
Beau won’t be beaten! This proposal just requires more work. Possibly even... teamwork.
She bullies Fjord until he agrees to paint ‘WILL YOU MARRY ME’ on his sail. If he unfurls it at the right moment, Yasha will see! Then swooning will commence, and Beau can carry her fiancée off into the sunset (she’s been practicing, she’s got the guns). Everything will be perfect.
Fjord does not unfurl it at the right moment.
And Yasha happens to be hanging out with Jester. Who sees the sail and starts screaming, because Oh my Gods he did it he proposed to meeeeeeeeee
(Beau and Fjord are too terrified to correct her)
Ah, fuck it.
After they return home, Beau’s in a horrible mood. Doesn’t help that Yasha’s acting weird too. She somehow manages to avoid Beau, despite being, y’know, a six-foot-something barbarian who literally sleeps in the same bed.
Beau winds up sticking two daisies together to make a ring (it’s not like Yasha cares about all the flashy stuff anyway, right?). She hunts Yasha down in the vegetable patch, tucked away in one corner of their garden at home, under the shade of the cherry tree, and quietly gets down on one knee.
And Yasha just. Crumples.
She flops down next to Beau. Wraps her arms around her, buries her face in Beau’s neck. And admits that, yeah, she knows what Beau wants. She figured out what was going on, somewhere around that godawful serenade.
“Plus rings... aren’t digestible, Beau. My constitution’s good, but it’s, uh, not that good.”
So, why hasn’t she said anything? Because she would’ve done, right?
If the answer was yes?
Turns out, Yasha has been freaking out for weeks because she doesn’t know how to answer.
Being Beau’s means everything to her. She gets to live openly with the person she loves? That’s incredible. That’s more than she ever dreamed she deserved. So yeah, she wants to marry Beau. She’s been ride-or-die since Kamordah! But there’s a lot of past baggage here. She can’t shake her fear that as soon as they take this step, everything they have will be torn away.
Beau just... holds her.
She holds her for what feels like forever. Then for a little longer.
“It’s not a no?” she whispers. Needing to ease that bitter burn of rejection that threatens to leave her whaling on her practice dummy all night, sweating out her saltwater so it won’t stream from her eyes.
(She’s better now, at processing such things. She is. But healing isn’t a linear progression; Yasha’s proof of that.)
Yasha hugs her back. “No. I mean. Not a no, yes. Not that it’s not not-a-no.”
Since she’s making no sense, she shuts up. But she keeps the daisies on her finger. Beau doesn’t push, Beau doesn’t press. There are no more big public gestures - or attempts at them, at least. And at the end of three days, when those daisies are dead...
Yasha sheepishly sidles up to Beau and asks if she’d be able to make her another one. Because Yasha could do it, but it’d be more special, somehow, if Beau did.
Beau’s heart has gone all wobbly. Her smile too, she’s willing to bet, as she rushes out to the garden to grab more flowers.
Yasha makes a daisy ring for her, too. They make new ones for each other every time they wither, each of them renewing that bond.
After a couple months of this, it’s become a ritual, almost. Beau’s gotten real good at selecting the sturdiest flowers in the bunch, slitting each stem with the nail of her thumb.
One day, she figures it’s time to do her usual ring-duty. Only she saunters back into the living room with a new loop of daisies to find Yasha chilling on the sofa, reading a book, a shiny diamond glittering on her finger. A very familiar shiny diamond.
("Wait. Is that the ring you ate?”
“Would it be better if I said no?”
It would be better if Beau had never asked. She focuses on what’s really important here: “Baby. Does this mean...?”
Yasha gives her this tight little smile, equidistant between pure joy and anxiety. “Yeah. I’m ready. I think.”
“You think?”
“I know.”)
and they both lived happily ever after

Part IV
Tumblr media
Pairing: Steve x reader, Bucky x reader, Thor x reader, Loki x reader, Peter x reader
Warnings: yandere, obsession, stalking, possessiveness, theft, all characters are adults.
Words: 1880.
Summary: Transferring to Stark Academy that has only allowed to take in female students last semester, you realize you are just one of three young women among hundreds of students. Your things are constantly being stolen, and soon you begin fearing for your safety.
Part I
Part II
Part III
_________
After you came back to your room, you got a message from Steve about changing the locks on both you door and your locker. You were so taken aback by today's conversation in the student council room that you had completely forgotten about it. Apparently, Steve had already requested the change of locks on your behalf through email, and you were really grateful to him for that: you dreaded coming back to the room that had been forced open. Of course, tonight you would have to move your dresser to the door so that nobody could enter when you'd be sleeping.
Shit. It was absolutely crazy.
"I'm not sure about all this, Steve." You texted him while laying on your bed and staring at your phone in the darkness of the room. "It doesn't seem right."
Naturally, you meant the fake dating thing. It felt horrible thinking of what others would think after seeing you with five different guys. Would they be calling you a whore in the open? Make some nasty jokes behind your back? Report you to the school administration for immoral behavior? Remembering those bigots from the student office, you cringed at the thought.
Besides, it still didn't make sense to you why you had to date all five. Sure, if they were around you at all times like your friends, these unhinged bastards who stole your things wouldn't do anything funny again, but it wasn't like that. What could one guy do against a group of other students?
"Listen, I didn't want to talk about it in class, but I'm worried it won't end with a stolen lingerie."
You didn't like his message.
"What do you mean?"
"You know what I mean. They might attempt something much worse than a theft."
Oh no. Was he talking about rape? Seriously? Did he anticipate others were so crazy they would do something like that?
But then again, girls were being raped in colleges even if it weren't the all-boys schools. A shiver ran down your spine.
"But if several people attack me, just one of you won't be enough." You typed with your shaky fingers, trembling beneath your blanket.
"It's not about the pure force. Each of us has a certain reputation, and others wouldn't want to cross us over because of it."
Wait, this was interesting. What on Earth did he mean? What kind of reputation was that to prevent people from messing with them?
"Thor is a good athlete and a great leader, his basketball team is ready to beat people to death for him."
"Loki's father is one of academy’s main sponsors, and he can have this school turned upside down if he wants to."
"Bucky is a threat by himself, but he also have a company of loyal friends."
"I don't think Peter is serious enough to scare anyone, but with his computer skills he could easily blackmail others, I’ve already seen him doing it. Students would be wary to cross him over just like any of us."
Steve was writing you a bunch of messages with a terrifying speed, and you could barely read the first when he was already sending you the second. It felt absolutely insane. Did he choose every guy because the more powerful admirers you have, the less others would intervene? Well, at least in case of Bucky and Thor who could beat people to near death, it was wise. You preferred not to think of Peter - you had no idea someone as sweet and caring as him did something as disgusting as a blackmail.
“But what others will think? 5 boyfriends? Others will think you are dating-” you paused, chewing your lips to bit, “- a whore. Nobody gonna stood up for me.”
"Imagine if each of us tells our friends that other four guys were just asked to watch over you, but you date only one.”
Oh. Yes, this was slightly better. Then you wouldn’t have to do something as bold as kissing every guy in public, instead maintaining the mystery who you were really dating.
Damn, how Steve even came up with this plan? Why was everything so complicated?
“It’s getting late. Good night.” Your phone vibrated again, and you huffed with irritation. You hoped you could ask him a bit more - about what you were going to do with the thieves Steve found, for example - but he was probably getting tired with all your questions. It was better to ask him tomorrow.
___________________
The next morning you were restless: since you were starting to going out with guys, you felt like you needed to look better than you usually were, so you spent your morning working on your hair and makeup. It was like fake dating, right? You had to pretend you wanted to look pretty for them.
What else did you have to do? Cook something sweet for them? Yeah, probably, but not at the start of your relationship. Going to cafe together? Helping each other study? Loki also mentioned the cinema...
You felt dumb. Of course, you dated guys before, but now you realized you had no idea how to act not to cause any suspicion. Oh boy, it was going to be a tough day.
Thor nocked at you door thirty minutes before your first session, but you woke up so early you were more than ready to go. As you opened the door, first moving the dresser back to its place, the guy looked at you with a puzzled expression on his face.
"Hey, what was that?"
"The dresser. I can't leave the door just like that until the lock is changed."
He blinked at you, watching the door and then probably remembering somebody forced the lock open to steal your underwear.
"These guys are batshit crazy." He mumbled and nodded you to go with him, putting his hand on your shoulder. "Don't worry, they won't do it again."
You wanted to argue they definitely would, but, seeing his warm smile, you thought Thor simply wanted to cheer you up and smiled at him in return. In the end, he was here only to make you feel safer: you didn't doubt he was very popular with the girls every time he went out to the city.
"You look great today!" He said sheepishly, walking in the dorm's corridor while other students were staring at him silently, obviously surprised to see you two together. "I mean, not that you looked bad yesterday, I just..."
Watching his face suddenly getting crimson red, you couldn't help but giggle at his expression. You could never think Thor was actually bashful around girls. Yeah, at your old place he'd definitely be one of the most popular guys around.
It was lunch time when you two could actually talk, sitting together at the same table and being watched by everyone around. Strangely, with Thor constantly talking and often rubbing your hand with his, it didn't feel suffocating, and you held your head high: regardless whether those pricks were looking at you, you weren't going to run away to your room and cry there like a little girl. Loki was right: you weren't a silly little sheep, scared of your own shadow. You wouldn't let anyone spoil your time in the academy you dreamt studying in.
Funny enough, Thor turned out to be a talkative type when he was speaking about basketball and his team in particular. He loved sports: while you were more into hockey, the way he talked was so enthusiastic it made you listen to him with a genuine interest. Thor's love for basketball was infectious.
He seemed a simple man, this giant bag of muscles who was laughing so loud people around him flinched; Thor wasn't the exact type of a guy you would encounter on your own, but he seemed nice, sincere, and surprisingly softhearted. You felt at ease talking to him, and soon you too acted like you'd known each other for long.
It was a pity you'd only met under this circumstances. It felt like you two could became friends.
But then when Thor absent-mindedly put his arm around your shoulders, you remembered Loki's warning: they would try to gain your favors. Was it the reason Thor was so nice to someone he just met? Wasn't it suspicious of him? You couldn't let your guard down after just one lunch together. In fact, you knew nothing of the man sitting in front of you.
"I knew something like would happen." Some guy to your left sighed loudly, catching your attention. "They were fucking crazy."
"I'm not surprised either. I just wanna know who they got in a fight with to be beaten like that. Have you heard they broke Gray's both legs?"
"Woah, both? That's brutal, man."
You shivered, trying not to listen to them.
"It'd happen sooner or later anyway. They were completely wild."
A word caught your attention right away: that was what Steve called those students who were stealing your things. Could it be a coincidence? Surely, in an all-boys school the students were fighting each other constantly.
But to the point of breaking both legs of someone? Really?
As you sent Thor a nervous look, he gently patted your shoulder, lowering his voice so no one would hear him, "I'm sure it's nothing to do with you. These things happen here from time to time because the guys have no idea what to do with all that testosterone."
You hoped he was right.
The rest of the day went as usual aside from Thor walking the corridors with you and chatting about sports: he managed to convince you to come see the game next month when they would be having a tournament. You were grateful to him for helping to ease your mind because the news of guys being sent to the ambulance made you shook. Steve also mentioned something about his and other's friends ready to beat anyone to death, right?
By the middle of your last class you couldn't think of it any longer and quickly typed a message to Loki. Of all people, right now he seemed the most sincere to you.
"Hi. Are the guys who were beaten last night are the ones who stole my things?"
Waiting was a special torture when you held the phone in your arms beneath your desk, hoping to see your screen lighting up with a message. In five minutes you got your reply.
"Yes." The message said simply, but it was enough for you to stare at your phone with horror, wishing you didn't ask Loki anything.
Oh shit. It wasn't a coincidence, right? It's impossible. Somebody did it on purpose. But who of the five?
"Do you know who did it?"
Next time he answered pretty fast, "No."
A part of you felt relieved. Maybe it wasn't related, finally. Maybe they got beaten by somebody who was fed up with their attitude because they were crazy as the guys in the cafeteria said.
But what if it weren't true?
"Who's the most brutal among you five?"
Biting your lips, you started rocking in your chair a little, making the guy on your left to roll his eyes in irritation.
The phone's screen flashed again.
"Barnes."

⌜mature content • minors do not interact⌟
「 contents: mature language + handjob ━━━━━ word count: 2.4k 」
: a.n : hiya! it's been long since i last posted something but here i am! this is my entry for @worldoftom's lolbrosgetsicktoo writing challenge. be gentle with me please, i'm really awkward writing in second person but i really wanted to make this gender-neutral.
: prompt : Harrison injures his right hand. He’s sexually frustrated, and his left hand just isn’t doing the job. Reader notices something is up with her poor roommate, and asks if there’s anything she can do to help. Even though they haven’t been anything more than friends up to this point, reader offers to “give him a hand,” or whatever of her other body parts he likes.
For two weeks Harrison had had his right hand clasped in a splint from taking a rather nasty fall from his skateboard. The night he had come home from the park with his jeans ripped on the knees and his hand clutched to his chest you hadn’t wasted a second to start taking the piss out of him at the clear picture of him eating shit at the skatepark but when he let out a pained groan after trying to take his jacket off your laughter died down and worry settled on the pit of your stomach.
His hand turned out to be badly sprained and well, the next couple of weeks had been spent in him trying to navigate his days with his non-dominant hand and with the initial panic of your roommate hurting himself gone you resumed the lighthearted piss-taking. Although he laughed with you at the jokes you made you could see how it really bugged him that he wasn’t as useful and agile with his right hand being in mandatory rest. “Told you, H. Whatever you have trouble with I can give you a hand.” You reminded him waving both your hands in front of you in a somewhat mocking manner.
“Yeah, heard you the first time.” He grumbled while struggling to button up his dress shirt. “Damn it.” The blonde cursed under his breath when his fingers seemed to not be working properly. That was enough for you to put your cup of tea down on the breakfast bar to walk up to him taking over the task he was growing frustrated with. He sighed defeated, letting his hands drop to his sides allowing you to close his shirt for him.
“Really, Harrison. I don’t mind helping you out.” The reassurance prompted Harrison to nod in understanding, running his fingers through his hair clearly irked by his situation. As if after you repeating it ninety-nine times before hadn’t sunk into his brain until the hundredth. “There you go, all done.” You patted his chest a couple of times then stepped back away from him to grab your mug again watching him leave the flat in a hurry after thanking you. You had been joking about what happened to him but you really felt bad for him, Harrison was a very active and independent guy who rarely asked for help and now that he was close to useless at doing simple tasks you could see how much it troubled him.
In the evening when he returned home he headed directly to the bathroom barely uttering a greeting back when you welcomed him, the sound of the running water splashing around let you know he was running a bath, you sighed at the fact that he had beaten you to run one for yourself though you were still busy making dinner for the both of you you didn’t duel much on it. About thirty minutes had passed since he went in for his bath and you figured it’ll be enough time for him to be about done with it to come out and eat, hence you walking up to the end of the hallway to knock on the door to make him aware that the food was ready.
However, the noise of water splashing a bit too aggressively accompanied by Harrison’s angry cursing made you believe something was wrong. With not much time to think you tried for the door and found it unlocked, swinging it open swiftly. “Are you okay!?” You asked in a panic, eyes wide when you saw the walls dripping and the floor flooded with soapy water. “Are you hurt?” You insisted, daring to step inside the room, bare feet coming in contact with the wet ground making comical splashing sounds.
“Yeah-no. I just…” He frantically tried to gather the few bubbles that floated on the scarcely-filled tub, bringing them closer to his body to cover himself a little.
“You just what, H?” Your voice still held concern and he noticed, finally looking up at you with seemingly pleading eyes. “You need help with your back or what is it?”
“No, y/n.” He huffed, brushing his wet hair back with his splinted hand wincing a little with the action. “This time you really can’t help me, alright? Just, let me get dressed.”
“Harrison, I told you I don’t mind help—” You started but was soon cut by the blonde’s voice rising above his usual level.
“I need a wank! That’s what I need. And my fucking left hand ain’t cutting it anymore.” Harrison blurted out a bit worked up, breathing heavily with cheeks burning hot showing in a bright crimson colour that stood out against his milky skin. Your mouth closed immediately after he acknowledged his problem, a warmth crept up your neck settling comfortably on the apples of your cheeks as your fingers toyed aimlessly with the hem of your oversized bed t-shirt. He wasn’t looking at you anymore, he had thrown his head back on the edge of the tub and covered his eyes with his injured hand while the other was under the water.
The way the muscles of his arm were flexed made the heat of your cheeks travelled to new places that could be labelled as inappropriate. Boldly, you stepped further into the room your steps marked by the sloppy meeting of them with the soaked tiles, not knowing exactly how you conjured the confidence to do so. “I-I don’t mind... helping,” You stuttered out, stopping right by his side. Wide eyes hanging on the young man’s hidden face that was instantly revealed as soon as those words left your lips.
“What!? Don’t be silly, y/n. I could never ask you to do that.” He sat up, making starts to get up but you stopped him by placing a hand on his bare shoulder keeping him inside the tub.
“You’re not asking, I’m offering.” You gave him a sincere smile, irises dancing between his crystal clear ones as you waited for him to accept or decline your proposal. Harrison’s teeth clenched as he swallowed thickly making his jawline look even sharper. When he delayed in giving you an answer you felt as if you had overstepped his boundaries and panic began to invade you fast.
“Okay.” He agreed with a nearly imperceptible wobble in his voice. “But don’t look at it. It’ll make me feel less guilty if you don’t know what it looks like.” The chuckle he let out was nervous and awkward, causing you to match it with one of your own as you nodded your head.
“Okay, I won’t look.” You declared, pressing your lips together before sinking to your knees right beside the bathtub sitting comfortably on your folded legs. Taking in a deep breath you reached for his left forearm with your right hand, eyes focused on the edge of the porcelain trying your best not to look down as you let your hand trail down his arm ultimately meeting his own hand under the lukewarm water. “Let go.” In a soft voice, you requested. Harrison exhaled through his nose prompting you to shift your gaze from the tub to his face, sending him a reassuring nod and a faint smile, those sufficient for him let you hold him inhaling a tad sharply when you did.
With your hand now wrapped around his girth, you started to give him slow and long rubs with a fairly firm grip. Since your eyes were still on him you saw him sigh, momentarily closing his eyes with the first few strokes, his lips pressed together as he breathed through each caress you provided. It was hypnotising seeing him in that way: head thrown back, eyes closed, flushed face, brows pinched together; adding to all of that he was completely naked and splattered with water droplets. Your tongue darted out to wet your suddenly dry lips, swallowing thickly at the scene in front of you, subconsciously your grasp on the man’s erection tightened enough to make him let out an involuntary moan that echoed throughout the tiled room, travelling through your ears and finding a new home deep inside your brain.
Again, —you thought— do it again. You now craved his pleasure noises, with a new goal you lifted yourself from your sitting position back into your knees so you could move your arm at a faster pace, wrist twisting every now and again succeeding at drawing more moans out of your roommate. A whimper left your throat when your arm started to grow tired from the motion and the pressure of the ceramic edge underneath it prompting Harrison’s eyes to shoot open and you swore you felt him twitch against your palm. “S-sorry, my arm got sore.” You let out an embarrassed laugh when your eyes met his, your whole face burning hot.
The aching of your arm combined itself with the soreness of your knees forcing you to stand up and let go of Harrison in the process, with little time to think twice you swung your leg over the edge of the bathtub soon followed by the other before you found a comfortable new position straddling the blonde’s bare thighs. The weight of you coming into the water raised the level of it, permitting it to soak the bottom half of your top, Harrison’s eyes never left your figure as you moved that much closer to him, his stomach was a little sucked in as if he was holding in his breath. “Is this okay?” You quizzed, noting that you sitting on him might be too much.
“Ye-yeah.” He breathed out in a hurry. You proceeded to resume your ministrations now with a better angle and an additional hand to give your right one a minute of rest. The movement of the water around you both and Harrison’s heavy breathing was the only things that could be heard in the bathroom of your quiet flat. The view was intoxicating; chiselled chest heaving, Adam’s apple bobbing as he swallowed, jaw slacked, pink lips parted and eyes screw shut. You found it next to impossible to reap your gaze from the guy in front of you, the way he was reacting to your touch was rapidly becoming your favourite thing and you wanted more of him, your thighs tightened over his when he let out a particularly loud moan and you had to blink a few times to try and restore your morality without much success.
“Are you close?” Your voice filled the air around you, it surprised both of you for you didn’t know you had it in you to ask such a question when you were trying to keep your composure in front of the man. Harrison’s eyes were half-opened and on you the second you asked, the intensity of them draw you in closer and closer to his face until your forehead was pressed against his tentatively. Soon his healthy hand was back under the water only this time it landed on your bare thigh gripping it tightly, the simple touch causing your breath to match his ragged one, mixing together from the close proximity of your faces.
“Fuck, don’t stop.” Harrison ordered with a deep groan as his body began to tense up underneath you. You took the cue and doubled your efforts with both your hands subconsciously whispering encouragements eliciting louder moans from him. His poorly hand came up to cup the back of your neck, holding you in place —as if you really had the intention to move away— while his high very evidently approached. “Fuck, y/n.” The blue-eyed boy moaned in your face luring a whine out of your throat at the sound of your name being called in such a way.
“Cum for me,” You encouraged him, nudging his nose with yours silently prompting him to look at you, and he did. Hooded eyes fixed on yours mere centimetres away that you could feel his lips ghosting over your own teasingly, warm breath fanning over them. “Harri, c’mon.” A whisper was all you could manage at that moment. Your own throat had grown dry and you had to suppress the mewls that threatened to leave your chest when you started to feel his cock twitching in your hands. A loud grunt got stuck in the man’s throat the moment he toppled over the edge, his length spasming in your grip as you so clearly sensed it unload under the now cool water, the temperature of the liquids contrasting against your skin when his seed landed on your hands as it sank.
Harrison’s body shuddered with each slow stroke you gave him to help him ride his orgasm, moans continued to fall from his parted lips. He swallowed, finally releasing your neck from the clasp to be able to relax back in the tub letting out a long and deep sigh of content. You couldn’t help but feel disappointed the moment he pulled away but it was for the best, you couldn’t be wishing for him to do something for you when you were perfectly capable of taking care of yourself.
That was when it hit you, the position you were in wasn’t appropriate at all, it didn’t matter how willing you were to be his second self surely giving him manual relief was a step too far. So with overwhelming shame, you let go of him, leaning to the side to take hold of the edge of the tub, pulling yourself up to your feet in a daze. The water that dripped down from your soaked t-shirt far too noisy in your ears as they buzzed with the adrenaline that still coursed through your body, the wet fabric sticking to your skin making you self-aware that it was now see-through so you hurried to the railing stuck to the wall and grabbed one of the towels, quickly wrapping it around your waist.
Embarrassed, you started for the door, holding the doorknob ready to leave the room, “Di-dinner’s ready.” You acknowledged shyly, the tremble in your voice giving your remorse away. You frantically shuffled on your feet stepping out of the room and closing the door behind you. There was a weird feeling in the pits of your stomach, you knew you felt embarrassed of what had just happened yet, that wasn’t it, it was almost like a craving. A craving for his touch and that made the shame feel ten times worse. You marched to your room locking yourself in, forgetting about your dinner plate that was sitting on the kitchen counter, your hunger long gone. Though, despite the mortification, there was a new much problematic sort of appetite tingling deep inside you and the throbbing between your legs made it much too hard to ignore.

*-Mug Shot-*-Poly KiriBaku X reader-*-part one-*
Note: Surprise Saturday, I got carried away with the story and thought it might be best to section it off in two parts so you’ll be getting this one and another post tomorrow peeps, I hope you enjoy my first attempt at a story like this one. Smut is not in this one so if you are looking for that you’ll find it tomorrow, until then please feel free to enjoy this. Also all characters are aged up and the time the story takes place is when they are already pro heroes, so keep that in mind.
=============================================================
Running, running, the sound of bare feet harshly pounding across the hard surface of the ground below. The pavement cold and merciless on your bare feet, you feel the damage from all the running with no shoes.  As you run the sound of your terror echoes out across the soundless night, the streets so empty, not like how they usually are in the daytime. Not a soul will hear you and if they do it’ll be a little too late. It’s dark and only the street lights give you any semblance of where you are going. You hear and feel your heartbeat pounding away in your chest, that feeling becoming more painful with each pound. You feel yourself falter a bit more but you can’t afford to stop, can’t afford to stop running even for a minute. You know they have to be hot on your tail, know they won’t waste time in giving chase once they know you have fled the scene, that most horrifying scene that you left behind. The images flash through your mind as you ran churning your stomach and bringing fresh tears to your eyes. You stifle a sob but that makes your chest clench most painfully but worst of all in this panic while you turn into an alleyway you haven’t noticed the glass scattering across the entrance of the alley. Though you become sorely aware of it once your feet make contact with the shards causing you to let out a scream at the pain shooting through the fresh wounds the glass makes. You wind up tumbling to the ground, you scuff up your hands and knees as you make contact earning more painful noises from you. You fell unceremoniously on the ground in a small heap. Those sobs you kept in achingly inside your chest burst out and you howl out, hot tears now streaming down your face.
For a moment you lose your resolve while you lay there in that heap on the pavement. The pain from all the running through the city catching up with you. Your breathing erratic and you are finding it hard to catch the breath that you lost during this chase. You feel dizzy, your entire body aching in agony, and for this time all you can focus on is the sheer panic coursing through your entire form. You need to get up, need to, have to, you can’t just keep lying like this out in the open, they’ll find you. Another surge of adrenaline gives you the energy you need, you rise to your feet and start running again. You are ignoring the pain in your feet and in other areas of your body which is over-exhausting. You’re Focusing on what is dead ahead of you, a building that looks abandoned. You can focus on much of anything else except the idea of escaping, the idea you can hide and rest a moment. Though, you have to wonder what you are going to do. You can’t run forever and you doubt hiding will do you much good either. No, not when facing off with two pro heroes who are much more experienced than you. Two pro heroes and friends you never had thought until now would have done something like this in the first place and no one else will believe such a claim either. No one will convict two heroes that have done nothing but good.
These thoughts alone left you feeling alone, so very alone. Who do you turn to in a time like this one? Who will even believe you? You, a simple book store clerk and hobbyist selling random things for fun? You are what most would call a nobody, just another face in the crowd, which is why you have to wonder what wound you up getting mixed up with these two in the first place. However, this is no time to think about that. There is no time to be drudging back into the past when what you need to focus on is finding a solution to your problem. A solution that doesn’t come easy or seemingly at all. The alarm of this chase slowly starts to dull into confusion as to why you haven’t been hearing anything from the two who should be hunting you down right now. You haven’t even seen a glimpse of either of the two males you figure are after you currently. Everything quiet and dark, not a sound, not a peep, nothing. You pause your running once reaching the abandoned building and making your way inside. You pant and groan, your lungs and everything else feeling like they are on fire. You place your hands on your knees and take in a deep gasp of breath before coughing loudly. You are choking and gasping after all that running, that dizzy feeling coming back to you. You stumble to the wall and lean against it, you in this tiring state slide down not caring about the filth on it or the ground under you, and there is trash along with other more grimy looking things all around, nonetheless at the moment, you choose to ignore it. Your body too worn and your mind still scattering about too much to really mind it all. All you need is to breathe, that is all you can think, you need a moment. Maybe if lucky, they aren’t chasing you after all. You can only hope that is the case yet you can’t be too certain so you know you can’t linger for too long.
“Fuck...fuck...it stings damn it…why…?!”
You curse under your breath finally starting to feel the glass in your feet you didn’t bother to remove before. You are fearful to even look at the bottoms of your feet right now, you can only imagine how torn up they must look currently, The blood. Looking off you can see the small trail leading to you.  You let out a small whimper as you raise your hands to look at them. They too sting badly from falling a few times before. Looking them over it seems they have been torn up pretty badly. A few rocks rest under the skin now, you poke at the bloody and bruising flesh trying to scoot a rock from under the flesh to get it out only to hiss from how it feels to do so and once more curse.
“Damn it…stings...”
You say in a whimper as you move to curl up into yourself, more tears start to cascade down your cheeks, that tight feeling in your chest returning.
“(BF/n), oh god...what am I...?!”
You curl up and start sobbing the images of your beloved’s corpse chard and beaten to a pulp on the floor creeping into your brain, it once more causes you to feel sick. It makes you want to vomit. The smell, the sight, the screaming before all that, those are things you know you’ll never forget. All of them tear you up inside, this is all your fault after all if it weren’t for taking on that project for the two pro heroes you wouldn’t have been winding up here, would you?
It had been a simple day, one like any other, the sky was bright and sunny dotted with a few clouds which you had remembered you stared up at that day. It was very nice unlike tonight, cold and unbearable regardless you remember you woke up beside your lover then. Your boyfriend had given you a good morning kiss like always ever since you had moved in together. Honestly, you hadn’t been in that house together all that long, only a couple of months but those moments spent together had been a dream. A dream you hadn’t wanted to wake up from. You would both get up and get ready to go to work. That morning you showered together, you both got a bit frisky that morning. You and your boyfriend would make out tongues danced together while your arms would be wrapped around each other. You could feel how well your bodies fit together.
Hard to believe that is all over now, that lovely little dream with your boyfriend dead, as dead as he is now. You will never feel that perfect fit with him again. Knowing that sends another wave of pain through you and causes another sob to echo out from your chest as you shiver and wish for the warmth of your lover. Right now you feel more cold and alone than ever before.
Continuing that trip down memory lane, you could recall you left the house alone that day. Your boyfriend would take his car to work and you would walk, being that you didn’t live that far away from the book store which you work at. You can’t help but think that years ago you wouldn’t have seen yourself working in such a place and it’s not because you don’t like books more so you have problems dealing with people. It fills you with a lot of anxiety to deal with things most days. Honestly, you feel you might have just wasted away if it wasn’t for your boyfriend who always seemed to have your back when you needed it. What are you going to do now that he is gone? Are you going to spiral out of control? No, somehow you will stay strong for his sake.
Regardless, continuing on. The day moved forward normally nothing seemed out of place, not even the random email you had gotten when you came home. The email was another commission for a project by another faceless person. You didn’t know that this request would wind you up in deep trouble later, in that deep trouble now. The commission seemed all too normal. The client wanted something special done for an anniversary gift for their boyfriend which seemed very cute to you. Really you sort of like hearing from the clients more than most do. The theme was simple it was to be a Red Riot and Ground Zero themed item or rather mugs. They wanted it to be a bit flashy or at least the art on them to be, it was something you could do, Honestly. Despite not being that into heroes, you were happy to do this for the client. You love making things and even more so making those who enjoy your work happy. So like with any other client you got to work after you sorted through the details, and actually, you were very excited. This was something you could do with your boyfriend, he was much more into the whole hero thing than you were and still are. Funny enough your boyfriend did like those two in particular. They were heroes that he very much enjoyed so that day you learned quite a lot about the pair of heroes in question.
The project went on as normal and with your newfound information, you made the gift extra special. You wanted to be very specific to the client’s taste so you tried to ask questions however they seemed very lax about everything they had said that they trusted your judgment. You didn’t mind this one bit. You had given the client updates and he seemed to like them. Eventually, the day came for the project to be done and you shipped them out. You had been very proud of your work and even your boyfriend was. Actually, Your boyfriend had got all pouty, he wished he could keep them which you had found funny then...what you would give to be able to hear him laugh again, to see that smile, and now that was stolen from you.
For a long while, things seemed alright, there had been no word from the client. However, you had been paid so you assumed they were happy with what they had gotten. It wasn’t until a full two months later that things started to kick off again. The day had started normal enough, you made it to the bookstore on time, and would work as you normally would. That day was quiet, not many customers, and most of the day spent slacked off with your coworker while doing what needed to be done around the store. Though at some point the bell on the door would sound it would call you back to the front of the store. A young man with crimson red spikey hair and eyes was the one who sounded the bell when he walked in. Upon further inspection your eyes would widen you would form a recognition with the redhead in the store, it was the hero Red Riot. You couldn’t help but stand there dumbfounded.
“H-Hello and welcome to Nook Books, how can I help you?”
That had been what you said when you finally had found your words, your voice had come out in a bit of a stutter and you had given him a small nervous laugh. He responded to your more shy behavior with merely a smile and offered up an adorable laugh of his own, which actually eased your own anxiety towards the situation at the time.
“Hey there, yeah I could actually use a bit of help finding a book.”
You would smile at the young hero and gave a small nod, you of course were always happy to help the customer, and there was no exception then either. Not to mention you were face to face with the hero Red Riot and at that time you had been oh too excited to be in his presence for the fact you could tell your boyfriend about the encounter. Maybe if you were lucky you could get an autograph, or maybe at least a picture, though to be honest you also hadn’t wanted to bother him so you so it was just a debate in your mind. you at the time though knew it would make your boyfriend happy if you would get it.
“Ah yes, well I’m happy to help, what book are you looking for?”
You would offer up one of your best smiles and try not to fidget too much however you had already shifted to and fro a bit out of nervousness already.
“Ah well, haha, I kinda don’t know…”
You would blink a moment in confusion but nod a moment before you responded.
“You don’t know? Are you buying for someone else?”
You would question a moment, you thought maybe his mind had been on someone else when he thought of the book he wanted, it might have been a gift if he wasn’t sure what kind of book he was on the look for however just as well he might just not had been sure what type of book he needed for himself, but something told you it wasn’t for him, you had a felt that way anyway.
“Haha, yeah, it isn’t for me, though he’s very special to me, he’s a bit difficult to buy for sometimes. Do you have any books that would be more action-packed and manly?”
You had smiled when you listened to his explanation for who it was for and even giggled when you heard what exactly he was had been in search for. There were many, many books on hand that could cover what he wanted but with so little given and that he said the other was difficult to buy for well it seemed like a slightly daunting task. Even so at that time you were determined to find the perfect book for this special someone that he had talked about. You smiled and worked very hard, you asked specific questions to try and get a better gauge on what type of book to get. If only you had known what you had been dealing with back then you wouldn’t have worked as hard as you did to make him happy. You wouldn’t have been as pleasant to him, but sadly you hadn’t known and you had been as positive and polite as possible. You even asked more than you would have given your normal comfort zone. You had tired yourself out on one customer something you wouldn’t usually do, but you wanted to impress the male. You wanted to make sure someone like him left very happy. You did manage that, you got him the perfect book, after you found that book for him you brought him over to the register to check him out.
“I think that book will make him smile, and if it doesn’t feel free to hold me accountable.”
You would chirp out as you rang up the book, you had a good conversation with the young hero. He’d even told you his name which was interesting to know. Kirishima seemed to talk about Ground Zero. Of course, it was said they were good friends so you supposed that was only natural, and he’d mentioned a few other interesting aspects about himself which had tickled you to learn about. It wasn’t every day you could have said you got to talk to a pro hero.
“Don’t worry, I trust your judgment, I don’t think you’d steer me wrong haha.”
You would nod and laugh as you placed the book in a bag and told him how much the book would be, Kirishima would pay you and you would hand him the bag, of course surprisingly he didn’t rush off after that, he would stick by the counter a moment.
“Before I go, would you like an autograph or something?”
He had given you a big grin and you would blink, you had held back and tried not to ask because you hadn’t wanted to bother him and there he asked you about what you had wanted from him, almost too eager you lept at the opportunity.
“Y-Yes actually I’d love that, my boyfriend is a big fan.”
At the first part of your statement it would seem that Kirishima was very happy to hear what you had to say but as you look back on it now you realize that he had twitched lightly, he had made a small change in his facial expression that said something else when you mentioned your boyfriend, you thought nothing of it back then but now it was very apparent that he was upset to hear you were with someone and that the reason you wanted a picture and autograph was because of him and not because you were a fan.
“Yeah? Alright then, glad I could help you make his day like you made mine.”
After that, you would get to pose with him for a picture and he would sign a piece of notebook paper for you, it was the only thing you had on hand at the moment, but he happily signed it for you. You also hadn’t noticed that he looked for more reasons to make conversation with you but your coworker interrupted and him unlike your boyfriend wasn’t very fond of heroes so he could care less that one was in the store other than the fact it meant that the store might get a good review from someone who mattered.
“(Y/n), I need you to do something for me in the back.”
Your coworker would speak up, you could tell from the tone of his voice he just wanted to hurry things along.
“Oh, I don’t want to keep you. It was nice to meet you, (Y/n). Hopefully, I’ll see you again.”
With that Kirishima had given you a small smile and wave before he made his way to the door.
“Yeah, you too, have a lovely day, I hope the person you were buying for enjoys your gift!!”
You would call back to him before he fully left, you hadn’t thought about how he used your first name, you didn’t tell him he couldn’t then, which would come to be a mistake later, many things would lead to being mistakes you couldn’t have fathomed being so problematic. After that meet with him, you had continued work only to be nagged by your coworker about doing your job in a timely fashion which irked you quite a lot but you hadn’t let it ruin your day. Like you assumed your boyfriend would be over the moon to see the autograph and to see the picture you had been so pleased to see his smile, that night was one to remember, Your boyfriend had been so excited he made love to you. Part of you doesn’t want to remember that part, only because it’s yet another thing that you will never have from him again, and giving the current situation, you find it inappropriate.
Suddenly you hear a loud bang echo out, a growl and cussing from not too far away from where you are in the building. Your heart begins pounding in your chest, it looks like those who were chasing you after you had fled are finally here to collect you. Your breathing picks up and you move scrabbling to your feet. If you stay here they’ll find you for sure, that is all that you are thinking about, you need to escape and now.
“Where the fuck are you (Y/n)!! I know you’re fucking here, can’t hide forever idiot!!”

Can you write one where the Rogers is assigning a new recruit to each avenger for training? Loki gets the new girl and he’s irritated thinking she’s just some normal human that hasn’t a clue how to fight properly because of her petite size. When it comes time for them to spar, she gives him hell. She fights with swords and is very skilled in the art. He says something to piss her off and she ends up blasting him away with powers she never told anyone about. Loki realizes what she is since he knows the magic she used. She’s part light elf but being half human she was abandoned and left to die just like Loki was. They end up bonding and work together on the team.
A/N: I hope you like it! I didn't focus a whole ton of them working together, but I feel like you get the point. It's a bit longer than my other one shots.
The Moon And Her Darkness
Summary: Y/N, the newest avenger, starts her first day of training. An unimpressed Loki’s doubts are proved to be wrong when she reveals herself to be stronger than he knew.
Word count: 2744
Warnings: angst, dick Loki

Your blood pumps fast through your body as you stare at the raven haired god. Ever since you joined the team, he’s been giving you dirty looks and eye rolls. You tried to not pay attention to it since you know of his past (and have been warned by Tony), but as the newest Avenger trying to prove herself, you find yourself longing for his approval.
It has been a week since Nicky Fury showed up at your home, extracting you from it, and throwing you into the lion's den you called the Avengers. You never signed up for it, but given that you were on the government’s radar for a long time, you’re not surprised. A couple mishaps here and there made them take you on their own terms. They’ve decided that having super powers is not something to be normalized and that you couldn’t live like a normal civilian.
Although you want to be home, the Avengers have already shown to be a great family. Nat and Wanda have already taken you shopping while Steve gave you a tour of the tower. As far as the others, they have been out of sight. Bucky avoids everyone, Sam with him because they’re glued to the hip, and Tony is somewhere else working on new technology with Bruce. Clint? Thor? Who even knows. You’ve been thankful for the attention they have given you.
Except for Loki.
You remember the attack in New York and you won’t lie when saying that approaching the god is intimidating. He stands with great pride and power, it’s hard not to feel small, but when he stares at you the way he does, it’s harder. He doesn’t stop looking at you as if you were a rat he found in a sandwich. Disposable. Replaceable. Disgusting. You don’t expect much from the God being that he’s only staying here out of punishment for the attacks, but you had hoped for a little something more. Even a prank or two.
When Steve told you that you were going to start training, you expected hand to hand combat like the rest, not whatever involves Loki being in the gym at the same time as the two of you. He hasn’t said a word, but just stared at you as Steve goes over some basic disabling techniques and defense. Most of it is already burned in your brain from your childhood, being a warrior and all, but you still manage to learn some new things.
But learning as to why Loki is there, that still remains unclear. Everytime you throw a punch or try to block one of Steve’s, Loki scoffs at you and rolls his eyes. He looks completely relaxed on a bench in the room, yet he could not be looking at you with a more tense gaze. He looks worried, as if you’re going to get beaten to a pulp.
“Okay, what’s wrong?” You yell at him.
Panting, you block Steve’s last hit and turn to the younger Odinson.
“Sorry?”
“Oh, don’t sorry me. Cut the crap, Loki. What’s up?”
“I believe the sky is.”
You grab a knife off the wall and aim it in his direction, startling him slightly but not even shocking Steve.
“You stare at me with daggers in your eyes and judge my every move. You have yet to even talk to me since I joined the team. What do you have against me, you ass?”
“Y/N-”
“Shut it, Steve!” You yell, quickly aiming the dagger at him before returning to Loki, “You. Talk.”
“It’s just pathetic, that’s all.”
“Pathetic? You’re calling me pathetic?”
You start to charge at Loki, but Steve quickly wraps his arm around your waist, holding you back from gutting the god.
“Y/N, I wanted you to spar with him after me,” he cuts in.
“And why would I do that?”
“Because he's a skilled fighter who matches your level.”
“Oh, so I spar with the tricker who decides I’m too pathetic to fight. He’s going to teleport or some shit and stab me like he does with Thor.” Loki’s eyebrows raise at the mention of Thor getting stabbed. “Yes, I’ve heard the stories. I’m not that naive, Steve.”
“I won’t leave you alone with him. I’ll be here to watch and guide.”
“What do you know about fighting with me? I have magic beyond belief” Loki asks the both of you.
“I know more than you think,” I spit, turning back to Steve, “Can we do something else?”
“Well, you coud-”
“I am not sparing with Loki.”
“Okay, then how about weapons? Whatever one you want to start with?”
Loki scoffs again at the mention of you fighting any other way than hand to hand combat. He’s lucky you’re on the same team as him or else you would have decapitated him by now just because of annoyance. How can a man so attractive be so obnoxious?
You walk over to the wall of weapons were Steve and quietly discuss which ones you’ll practice with. He recommends knives so you can spar with Natasha when he’s gone, but the swords are more up your alley. They remind you of your childhood, the weapon of your people. Some days, you miss them, but you know they are fighting their own battle that is too dangerous for you.
Picking up the swords, Steve warns you he is not good which makes Loki laugh again. He has the right to this time because how do you practice with a man who doesn’t know what he’s doing. You can’t last ten minutes with Cap before you’re tired of his flailing. He’s really not good.
“Loki, you wouldn’t happen to know how to use swords would you?”
“I have some experience. Asgard knights and Valkyrie used them, we were forced to learn.”
He stands and takes Steve’s sword from him. Turning to you, he smirks, taking you in. Your frame looks so small compared to his, nothing but a mortal. He’s never admit it, but he finds you slightly adorable, in a helpless baby sort of way. You take proper stance and stare at Loki dead in the eye, determined to prove him wrong.
The two of you run at each other, swinging at any unblocked area you can, yet never hitting. He blocks your swing, pushing you back but not down. Looking up at him, you scream and run, thrusting your sword towards his neck and legs. He blocks you again, but not without stumbling. Before he’s able to get up, you land a blow right to his chest, knocking the air out of him. He hooks his foot around your leg and flips the two of you over so he hovers above you, sword to throat.
“I’ll admit it, you are good, but not great,” he laughs.
He stands up and walks off, setting the swords back on their holder on the wall. You gradually stand up, fury in your bones for the way he speaks to you.
“You… are irritable!” You yell.
Right before Loki gets to the door, he turns to face you. Steve rushes to your side.
“Y/N, stop. He’s not worth it.”
“Oh, he’s not worth it, alright,” you mutter to Steve, “He’s not worth the pride. The praise. Whatever the ‘glorious purpose’ he thinks he has. He’s just an insecure little boy who needs to prove himself over others, make them feel small so he feels superior. Just a bully.”
“I’d watch your tongue,” Loki warns.
“Or else what? You’ll challenge me to a words competition? See who has the best insults or can sound like the biggest douche because I think we all know who would win! Another check mark for your book of things you’re better at than ‘midgardians’ or ‘mortals’ or whatever degrading nickname you think of next.”
Loki’s chest heaves in anger. You’ve never seen someone so angry or heard anyone yelling at you with concern like Steve. Nothing he says registers in your head as Loki’s daring looks fill your mind. You’d almost be scared if you didn’t know he’s full of empty threats. Just a scared little god boy.
“You imbecile, think you can scare me?”
“Actually, I think anything can.”
“I can take words from someone who does not know me, but to be called a coward is not something I take lightly.”
“So what are you going to do about it? Huh?”
“Nothing, I don’t waste my time on people like you.”
“Oh, people like me? Because the great Frost Giant Asgardian is sooo superior.”
“Don’t you ever say that.”
Loki rushes to your side, grabbing you by the throat and lifting you up against the wall.
“Loki, stop it!” Steve yells.
“This is not about you, Rodgers. I suggest you leave before getting in the crossfire.”
“I can’t do that. The safety of this team-”
“Is your priority. I know you are honorable, but I highly suggest you leave.”
Steve hesitates at the sound of you gasping for air. You cling onto Loki’s hand, tightly wound around your throat. His veins pop out of his hand like a dehydrated man. Steve looks back at you, eyes now closed to focus on your breathing.
“Put her down first,” Steve orders.
“Fine, always have to be the hero.”
Loki sets you down and your body goes numb. Everything hurts, your throat swelling. You gasp for all the air you can, feeling it go down your throat and enter your lungs. It’s fresh, comforting, healing. Leaning your head back against the wall, you barely open your eyes to see Steve by your side.
“Are you okay?”
Not energized enough to speak yet, you nod your head and place your hand on his shoulder. Steve looks over at you with worry before turning back to Loki.
“Leave, now.”
“Gladly.”
Loki turns to walk away, but doesn’t. He stands there to listen to you and Steve. At this point, neither of you care. You’re too focused on not dying.
“Can you breathe?” Steve asks.
You nod your head.
“I can get you help. We have a hospital room.”
“No,” you choke, “I’m fine. I just need a moment.”
Steve nods, but doesn’t listen. He gets up and leaves the room, rushing down the hallways to get a nurse, leaving you alone with Loki.
“Why haven’t you left?”
“No reason.”
“Please, just go. I’m tired of fighting. You’ve done enough.”
Loki turns to look at you. You look weak, but actually weak this time. The purple tint to your skin is fading as your lungs self regenerate as you keep breathing. Gripping onto the wall behind you, you stand up. Your knees are weak, making you wobble as you do. You’re not lying. You’re tired of Loki. You’ve barely spoken to the man and he’s made two attempts on your life in ten minutes. Sure, you teased him, but doesn’t he deserve it for being an ass.
“Weak.” He mutters.
That was the last straw. You look up at him. He stares at you as if the devil himself has entered you and your eyes glow bright red, but you know what is wrong. Holding out your hand towards Loki. A glow erupts from behind you, bright yet dark. It’s dark blue like the night sky and Loki watches it in awe. In seconds, Loki’s body is flung through the training room doors, blasting him into the wall of the hallways. He feels his rib breaking, his head hitting the wall. He yells out in pain as you slowly approach him, the anger seeping through.
“Never call me weak.”
Loki flips his head up to look at you, shock running through his body. At the sound of his body collapsing, the other Avengers come running forward. They look upon the sight of you towering over the trickster god with a look they’ve never seen before. Ethereal. Godly. You look as if you’re a queen staring at her peasant handmaid. Anger. Controlling. Power.
“What the-” Bucky mutters.
“You,” Loki gasps.
He struggles to stand as the team tries to help but he refuses. You two locked eyes but nothing was said. “You’re an elf.”
Everyone looks back at you with confused faces, but you don’t say anything. Your body goes hot at the mention of the word ‘elf’. The fire inside you fades out as anxiety places it, waiting for Loki to continue.
“I knew if someone was here to figure it out it’d be you,” you whisper.
“Light elf yes?”
“Yes, moon elf to be exact.”
“How are you here? Aren’t the-”
“Yes, they’re away. I was left to die. Our town got ransacked, everyone fled. No one stopped for me.”
“Then how are you here?”
“The Air elves. They got word of what happened and came. Found me. Took me back, but-”
“You weren’t suited. They found out.”
“Yes.”
There’s a moment of silence between you and the god. His eyes shine with sadness, tears coming to the corners. He looks at you with great pity as the wall inside you breaks.
“Can someone explain what’s happening?” Steve asks.
“Can you tell?” You ask Loki.
He nods, “Yes. Y/N is a moon elf, a tribe of light elves. They’re as high up as Asgard in the nine realms, powerful warriors. They’ve been at the center of every creature out there. People have been after them for their weapons, gems, and wealth. A landmark for every thief and warrior in the universe.”
“My town was destroyed when I was a little girl. Nobody wanted me because I was a child. I was a burden to them.”
“She was left for dead to be found by the Air Elves. Another tribe. Not as powerful. But they didn’t want her and there’s only one reason why they wouldn’t want a moon elf. She’s a half-breed.”
“Moon elves are the only ones who tolerate them. Half human, half elf. Considering many of them come from moon elves, they’re not despised, but Air Elves.”
“They dropped you off on Midgard to be picked up by someone else. I assume you hid your powers?” “I had to. I acted out once when I was little and my parents freaked out. They sent me away. I lived in a orphanage before some group took me, trained me, helped me hone in my powers. They saved me.”
“Until you got to old and left.”
“Didn’t know where to go. I became a waitress at some back alley bar, lived above it in an apartment with my manager. Lived paycheck to paycheck.”
“Then?”
“Nicky Fury came to me. I was on SHIELD’s radar and they wanted me on the Avengers.”
The room goes silent. Throughout your talking you missed the way Loki got considerably closer to you. You practically stand right under his nose. Loki raises his hands and places them on your shoulders, getting your attention. You two look each other in the eye for a long moment.
“I am… so sorry.”
You feel the tears forming in your eyes as Loki pulls you into his chest, holding you by your waist. The team watches in awe as the closed off god embraces you. Slowly, everyone leaves you two in the hallway. An hour goes by as you cry in Loki’s eyes.
Eventually, Loki picks you up bridal style and brings you to your bedroom. He helps you get dressed for the night and settled in bed before you grab his hand, making him turn back to face you. His eyes are no longer riddled with anger or hatred, but kindness and pity. He looks at you like you’re a little lamb to be protected.
“Yes, darling?”
“Stay with me?”
He nods before undressing and getting in bed with you. He pulls you close, your head leaning on his chest, and places an arm around your waist.
Every night goes on like this. No matter what happened in the day, even if you two got into an argument, Loki always found his way back by your side in your bed. You would have never expect it from how he treated you at first, but after the last few months since you met him, you find yourself growing closer to the god.
Loki slips into your bed for what feels like the 1482nd time. Resting your head on his chest, Loki pulls you close to his body.
“Goodnight, darling.”

The 101 Deaths of Danny Phantom
AO3 link
One of the first things people learned about dealing with ghosts, other than not to try and date them, is to never asks about their death or obsessions. That doesn’t mean the citizens of Amity Park aren’t curious though, especially about their resident ghostly hero and the confusing and concerning comments he sometimes makes.
“Are you okay?” Phantom asked Maisie as she shook and tried to hold back tears after that car had almost slammed into her. She sometimes joked about getting hit crossing the street of her college campus to pay her obnoxious loans but it was another thing entirely to almost experience it herself. Maisie was nearly twenty, she shouldn’t be comforted by someone younger than her little step sister but here she was, shaking like a lead and leaning into Phantom’s comforting, chilly touch.
“Sorry,” she stuttered, “thank you, I’m sorry I’m just-”
“Hey, it’s okay to be upset that was very scary. The thought of dying is very scary.” Through her adrenaline and her tears, she took in the ghost’s unnatural glow, his faded, barely visible appearance and the fact that he was floating a foot off the ground. Maisie knows this ghost, this boy, knows more than she ever could about death.
“And getting run over by a car sure is a bad way to go,” the ghost kid chuckled awkwardly, taking his cold hand off her shoulder to scratch at the back of his neck. “You should see how my dad drives or my mom or my sister if she’s running late enough,” Phantom paused in thought. “No one in my family should have a license now that I think about it. Anyway,” he dismissed with a wave.
“My sister and I were getting ready to head out to school and my dad was backing out of driveway too fast and didn’t see us and uh, luckily I got my sister out of the way in time haha,” Phantom trailed off awkwardly. Was it because of the uncomfortable conversation or because he noticed her dawning horror.
Her best friend ran the community college’s Phan club so Maisie was a member by default. Phantom’s death was sometimes talked about late at night, everything from wrongful murder to a freak accident. She never in her worst nightmares imagined being him being runover in front of his own house by parental ignorance. It was so normal, a quick mistake and a life lost.
“Oh my god,” he said with an adorable little green blush. “Why am I babbling about that? You almost got hit by a car, I’m probably retraumatizing you or something. I should probably go get the jerk who almost hit you,” he said before disappearing into thin air.
“Tia is not going to believe this,” she whispered to no one. All she knew is that for the rest of her damned life she was going to look both ways when crossing the street. She’d seen first hand what a single moment of reckless driving could cause.

Matthew, not Matt or Matty or Hughie, Matthew shivered from the cold. He was only in his boxers with little Pacman on them. It had been fine when he’d gone to bed considering it was mid-August but Phantom and this stupid flaming mecha ghost had tussled outside the summer camp he was working at. He could see some of the kids snickering at his state of undress though he was just extremely glad they were alive enough to disrespect him like this.
“Oh man, I’m sorry,” the ghost kid said with big, sad eyes that looked so human despite the fact that they were literally glowing. He looked around at all the snow and ice left over from his fight. “Jeez you guys must be freezing, I wish I could warm you all up but all I can do is make things colder.”
“S’okay,” Matthew said through his chattering teeth. “Teaching the kids how to start a fire was supposed to be next week but we can get a jump on it.” That got a smile out of the ghost and within a half hour, the other counselors were distributing blankets and hot beverages to the kids clustered around multiple fires. They didn’t seem particularly upset by the potentially fatal attack, Matthew will breakdown about that at a later time when he was alone. For now, he just smiled as the children chattered happily with the ghost while he cleaned up as much of the damage as possible.
“So you spend all day fighting ghosts?” Zoe asked with stars in her eyes.
“A lot of the nights too,” Phantom nodded, “I do other stuff but yeah it seems ghost fighting takes up most of my time.”
“Where’d you learn those cool powers?” Zuri asked, miming a punch.
“Comes with being a ghost,” Phantom shrugged, “my ice powers came in later though so I still struggle a bit with them but I’m getting better every day.”
“Why ice though?” Morris said with his cocked curiously to the side. “I see some ghosts use fire or shadows, why do you have ice?”
“Ah that’s a little personal,” Phantom chuckled but his posture was easy despite the invasive question. “Specialty powers like my ice require special circumstances and a certain uh connection to the ghost. Someone like me couldn’t use fire or electricity or plants, ice is in my soul, it’s who I am.”
Matthew paused in drinking his lukewarm coffee as a horrible thought came to mind. He’s been an outdoorsman all his life, practically from the time he could walk. He’d been a deep woods camping guide for a decade before switching to working at summer camps. But the years working in the relative comfort of a stable camp didn’t erase his knowledge of how unforgiving and deadly the woods in the winter could be. A grown man, much less a young teen, would freeze to death in 20 minutes if it was cold enough.
It made sense for ghosts to develop powers related to their deaths. Had Phantom been one of the dozens of unfortunate kids he read about every year who ran away in the middle of winter only to found later as a frozen corpse. He eyed the boy’s snow white hair and frigid aura he exuded with mournful trepidation. God, what a horrible way to die.
“I’d get chilly with ice powers,” Tabby said with a shudder, she held out her cup of cocoa. “You want some of my cocoa to warm you up?”
“No thanks,” Phantom said with a soft smile that was warm despite everything. “The cold hasn’t bothered me for a while.”

Ghost attacks may be the norm but, if there was one good thing that came out of whole mess it was the fact that violent human crimes went down drastically. So when the rare murder did happen, the shock and fear rippled through the whole town.
Stanford Newton had only been sheriff of Amity Park for eight months after the last guy had gone gray overnight and moved to Florida the next day. It was a daunting position but one he bore proudly. This wouldn’t be his first murder investigation having initially cut his teeth as a beat cop in Chicago but it would be the first in Amity. And it certainly was the first in which the dead served in an active capacity.
“Amanda Chastain, 27. Officially she was a waitress down at Spengler’s Diner but she’s been picked up for prostitution twice in the last year,” Stan said calmly, ignoring the cold, angry presence over his shoulder. “History of polysubstance abuse as well, not that either of those things mean she deserved this.” Used, beaten to death and then dumped in the trash like yesterday’s paper.
He wondered if she’d come back a ghost or if she’d finally get some peace this world hadn’t offered her. “We don’t have many leads right now, I’m afraid. Acting illegally as they are, there’s not a lot of resources these poor girls have to turn to.”
“I’ll find them,” The Phantom said with blazing conviction, his voice thick and sharp as ice. “I’ll find and bring them to justice and make sure no one else is hurt again.”
“I believe you,” Stan nodded, shutting his notebook as he finally turned to face the teenage superhero haunting his town. He can’t say he liked what he saw. The Phantom looked even less human than usual, his aura flaring and flickering like the foggy mist before a heavy snowstorm. His unnatural green eyes glowered, painting his too young face in a terrifying light.
The kid looked furious, clearly taking this death to heart. He’d read the Fenton’s memos about obsessions and such but this seemed beyond that. “But don’t hurt anyone to do it, or yourself while you’re at it.”
“I won’t, I’ll make sure they’ll face human justice and don’t worry,” Phantom gave a snarling smile. “No mortal can hurt me, not like this,” he growled causing the hairs on Stan’s arms and neck to stand on end. He flew off after that, presumably to track down Amanda’s killer.
“Not like this,” Stan mumbled to him, pulling out his handkerchief and wiping his brow where a cold sweat had broken out. “Jesus Christ that poor kid.” Stan had seen plenty of murdered and mutilated bodies in his lifetime, some of them even kids. He just never got to talk to them after they’d had their life forcibly snatched away. It would explain the ghost’s near fanatical determination to save others, why he took a stranger’s murder so personally.
“I hope your own murderer is behind bars,” Stan said as he tucked his handkerchief back into his coat pocket. “Or even six feet under, for killing a good kid like you.” Stan made his way back to his squad car so he could head back to the station and move forward with the official investigation. But he’d eat his hat if there wasn’t a stammering lowlife there by tomorrow ready to turn themselves in.
Maybe after all this was settled down, he’d delve into some of the cold cases stacked in the cellar. Maybe in there he’ll find a picture of a smiling, carefree teen who’d disappeared and returned with the power now to ensure no one else suffered as he had.

“Yes, I know about the Phantom,” Luis Oliveira will say to anyone who so much as brings up the ghost kid. Locals know better by now but the tourists eat it up every time. He twists his finely combed mustache and gestures to the floor where his audience is standing. “He died right there oh ten or eleven years ago.”
Luis has worked his way all across the the United States since he emigrated from Brazil in the 70s. He finally settled in Amity Park about twelve years ago. He’d never intended to stay in the small Midwest town but the fatal shooting of a young customer kept his little corner market open.
“He was a nice kid, always said hi to me and paid in exact change. Was big fan of the snacks I made, would stop by after school and take half my inventory. He had big brown eyes and a crooked nose,” Luis would smile at the memory before closing his eyes and frowning sadly. “One day, he came late. His teacher made him stay after to go over a failed test, I remember he complained. He was pulling out his money when robber burst in, demanding my money. I fumbled for the register key, dropped it. I bent down to grab it and I hear shots going off. Two over my head, another right into the boy’s throat.”
Luis will hear the sound of that sweet boy’s guttural choking sounds as he drowned in his own blood until the day he himself died. The robber left after the shot, Luis called the police and held the young man’s hand as he died. The would be thief were never found and Luis never did learn anything about the boy who’d died on his floor for getting hungry after school.
“As soon as I saw Phantom on the TV,” Luis would say, perking up after his moment of somber grief, “I knew it was that boy come back. Those kind eyes, I’d recognize them anywhere. He’s never come here but one day he will and I will be able to pass on my regret on not being able to save his life that day.”

“I think he killed himself,” Mikey whispered to Lester during lunch period, angling his voice low. “The jocks may love Phantom for his powers but I just know he was one of us, an unwanted nerd. I’ve seen him chatting up a ghost I’m pretty sure is Poindexter, Casper’s suicide kid. They’re probably bonding over their similar deaths and the circumstances that led to it.”
“That’s pretty dark,” Lester whispered back. “I also get unpopular vibes from him but I don’t think he’s the time do uh do that to himself; he’s too stubborn and protective. But I bet he was the victim of a prank gone wrong. Dash locked Fenton in the Janitor’s closet last Wednesday, he got out okay somehow but maybe something like that happened to Phantom. He always looks kind of annoyed at the A-listers, maybe they remind him of old bullies.”
“Nuh-uh,” Clara said, pushing up her glasses with her middle finger. “The ghost kid totally got electrocuted or something. He was fighting that weather ghost and he sent lightning bolts his way and Phantom flinched. He fought the Ghost King and yet a little electricity scares him? It might not’ve even been a lightning strike but something manmade like a machine backfiring or something.”
“Get real,” Mikey scoffed, sipping his milk with an eyeroll. “I’m sure we’d have heard about some poor kid getting zapped to death; this town isn’t that big.”
“We’d have heard about a suicide too,” Lester noted with a wry grin.
“Shut up Mr. I base my theories around Fenton who’s a known weirdo”.

“I’m telling you, the ghost kid died of some debilitating illness,” Abbie McMillian, retired school teacher and three year reigning champ at the Tristate area’s Daylily Competition. She sipped her tea and spoke with as much confidence as she had back in the day wrangling Amity’s impressionable youths. “The superhero thing is clear wish childhood fulfillment, a chance to live and be free like he never got to in life. You see how happy and carefree that young man looks while flying? Clearly he spent his formative years sick and weak.”
“No way,” Greta von Martin frowned as she aggressively stirred her own tea to show her displeasure. “I worked in a hospital for close to 30 years and I know what chronically sick kids look like and Phantom doesn’t fit the bill. I will agree he’s carefree when he’s not battling spooks but he acts like a stupid teen. I’m telling you, the boy got into his parent’s liquor cabinet or took a few too many of whatever pill was going around his school. Tragic but something that happens every day.”
“Greta, dearie,” Abbie said with a pinched frown. “We’ve been friends since grade school and I love you like a sister but you are wrong and until you admit it, I won’t share anymore of my recipes.”
“You’re just being stubborn because you can’t see what’s right in front of you even after working with kids half of your life, Abbie, love,” Greta sniffed. “And you can kiss my grandson’s help weeding you garden goodbye until you relent.”

Perhaps one of the most human traits is curiosity, especially about what comes after death. Now the good people of Amity Park know a great deal about the dead so the lives before is what attracts their attention and none so more than the ghost boy. Maybe it’s because he’s their hero or maybe it’s because he’s so young. Or perhaps it’s because Phantom is such a mess of contradictions that it’s very hard to guess how the unfortunate boy met his end. But everyone has their own theories, from the mundane to the fantastic, some with evidence backing them up and others pure poppycock.
But for all their curiosity, as much as it burns them to know, they’ll never ask. They don’t want to risk the powerful ghost’s wrath but, moreover, it seemed in poor taste. The boy risked his afterlife to keep them safe, they couldn’t ask what traumatic and miserable circumstances had led to this point.
And besides, it was so much more fun to look up at ghostly figure as he sped through the skies and wonder.
